The new video clip of the Foo Fighters - "Rope" has just appeared on the Internet. A video clip that resonates just like their sound, diving us back in the MTV 90's years. "Retro is the future".

Foo Fighters have released a new music video for lead single "Rope", taken from the band's forthcoming seventh studio album Wasting Light . It's vintage Foo Fighters, and with all of Dave Grohl's recent comments about the band returning to its roots, the video is certainly quite fitting. You can watch below, courtesy of MTV.

Wasting Light will be released 12 April 2011 on RCA and was recorded in Dave Grohl's garage. Dave Grohl and his cohorts are back with another Foo Fighters album. Four years since their last effort, there's more rock-by-numbers from the band to get your listening gear around. You can definitely tell it's a Foo Fighters song... that's the most praise we can afford sadly. Rope is the first single from Wasting Light and was released 1 March.

There are many good omens for the upcoming Foo Fighters record. Firstly, Mr Grohl has felt it appropriate to hand the reins of an album over to Butch Vig for the first time since Nirvana's Nevermind . Secondly, it is the first Foo's album to feature Pat Smear as an official member since The Colour and The Shape , which many believe to be their best work to date.
