Five Good Covers presents five cross-genre reinterpretations of an oft-covered song. Dun. Duh-nuh. Dahn. Dah-nah. With that fanfare for the common mod, four lads from London announced their arrival on the music scene, asserting themselves as a powerful voice even as they admitted to not knowing how to say what they wanted to say. When the Who released "I Can't Explain," Pete Townshend may not have achieved the levels of self-expression he would find, but his ability to connect with his audience was already fully formed - there were thousands of listeners who knew exactly what it meant to feel [...]
Having recently reviewed the latest super effort from UFO , it only seems fitting that I turn my Ripple gaze towards former-bandmate/crazy guitarist's new album, Temple of Rock . After all, Michael and UFO will be forever linked on the strength of their early-mid '70's output--some of the best rock of the time. Now, Michael Schenker for me as a solo artist has always been a hit or miss proposition. Some albums positively cook, while others . . . well, . . . don't. A friend once told me [...]

ARTIST: The Scorpions - [Album] DATE: 03-09-12 REVIEW BY: Bill Adams What's a band to do when, in the middle of its farewell tour, someone reminds them that their record contract still calls for one more release? While nothing has been confirmed in that regard, it's easy to assume that was the situation which sat before The Scorpions right before sessions for Comeblack began. [view more]
German hard rock/heavy metal legends Scorpions has announced a series of headlining shows in the United States and Canada, where they are rumoured to be joined by the Michael Schenker Group (though no confirmation of this has been made.) The trek is part of their farewell world tour and also in support of their latest album, "Comeblack," a collecti... Read More/Discuss on Metal Underground.com
A mixed bag from The Scorpions, Lillian Axe and up & comers Madison Rising.
When is retirement not really retirement? When you're in band, of course. Just look at Cher's farewell tour which stretched out for years ; the same can be said for the group Kiss, and let's be honest as long as Gene Simmons thinks he can squeeze out one more penny from the band they will [...]
From the Scorpions comes a clever and entertaining new album.
German rockers exit with a fine album.

Another week, another review of a double live album. I could have sworn I wrote this one up a year or so ago for Ripple but was amazed that I did not. Good thing, too. I've been looking for a cheap copy of the LP to replace the one that went missing over 25 years ago and finally tracked one down last week. 5 bucks for this muther at a used place on Long Island in a bin full of crappy metal like Americade and Kane Roberts. I've had the remastered CD for many years, and it sounds great, but [...]

"Scorpion Move" is the latest single to be released from the 22-year old German producer Zedd and features the young artist trying his hand at experimental dubstep. Grab a listen below and make sure to download yourself a free copy of the single! Zedd will be releasing another new single titled "Stars Come Out" on November 22 through Dim Mak . Additionally, his debut album Autonomy is set to drop at some point in February 2012 on OWSLA . Stay connected with Zedd :: [...]

Remember when I said on Monday that it's not every day artists give out free tracks? Well, I was right, it's every other day they give out free tracks. Zedd was feeling generous leading up to his new single release, Stars Come Out , on the 22nd and decided to give us all a little dubstep tune to enjoy. If I'm not mistaken I think this is first ever attempt at dubstep, and while I'd say his electro production skills are almost second to none, he needs a bit more work on dubstep. Granted he [...]
It's always interesting when our favorite electro artists decide to try out a new style and, for some reason, 97% of them decide to head into the realm of Dubstep (*cough Porter Robinson). Personally, I'm rarely impressed with these attempts because they never strike me as having the same unique production ability that's evident in their original electro. This wasn't the case though with the free gem that Zedd put out on his Soundcloud yesterday. In fact, I was pretty impressed the first, second and third times that I heared it. Scorpion Move portrays this young star's expertise [...]

Paying homage to an epic stage-dive during which he morphed into a Scorpion-like figure flying into a sea of hands, Zedd has dropped a venomous Dubstep banger titled Scorpion Move . Still riding the hairy or hairless wave that is the hit track Shave-It , Zedd is also due to release a brand new single The Stars Come Out 11.22.11 on Dim Mak so keep your ears peeled for that release by following Zedd on Twitter , Facebook and Soundcloud ! Oh yea, if [...]

Today I have a song that takes German producer Zedd well out of his comfort zone. Usually Zedd is known for Elecro House bangers like Swedish House Mafia's Save The World Remix , and his remix to Marry The Night by Lady Gaga. Scorpion Move is a huge Dubstep song with a nice melodic build up. The drop is super heavy but the sound Zedd creates is not unpleasant at all. If this is the music that Zedd is giving away I can only imagine what else he's cooking up. Turn up the bass and enjoy! Zedd [...]

Released today via Zedd's soundcloud, 'Scorpion Move' almost acts a precursor for 'Stars Come Out', another single that is scheduled to be released on November 22nd. Surely, if there wasn't incentive to see him at Webster Hall on the 23rd, these two tracks should provide plenty. This song is available for download off the soundcloud link. Zedd - Scorpion Move
The German youngster Zedd has been making serious moves over the last year or so, but lately he's been taking things to the next level. His latest release, the wildly successful Shave It , has garnered tons of attention and is currently being rinsed in every type of set due to the fantastic remix package he put out on OWSLA records . Now to capitalize on the attention, Zedd's gone ahead and ventured into the world of dubstep with a brand new track Scorpion Move , which he's giving out fo' free! Zedd has a [...]
Just a few minutes ago Zedd tweeted about the release of his brand new track "Scorpion Move." The energetic German producer has developed a distinctly hard style with FAT & JUICY bass lines, which he certainly did not forget about on this tune. Of course, Zedd throws in his uplifting electro melodies in between all the jaw grinding dubstep. The track also contains lots of breaks with pounding drum kicks, giving the track a drum n bass feel as well. The young Anton Zaslavski has been generous enough to release "Scorpion Move" as a free download off his soundcloud [...]
