![[Listen/Download] The Skeletones Four- Sexy Breakfast](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4066479_lg.jpg)
I love the guitar lick that makes Sexy Breakfast so uhhh sexy? The band is from Guelph, Ontario and they present us some rock with jazz inspired piano parts and classic pop vocals. The track is from an album called Gravestone Rock . That might lead to a bit of an identity crisis as they are not a metal band I'll just let you know it is not. Meet The Skeletones Four , four talented Toronto-based gentlemen whose name has been on the rise as of late. Back in 2009, songwriter Andrew Collins launched the act from a decade's worth of solo material, cobbled together under the excellent title AAAAAHHH!!! . Since then, he's recruited long-time friends Evan Gordon, Jordan Howard, and John Merritt to round out his sounds, and carved a name in the Toronto circuit after opening for the likes of Zeus , Julie Doiron , and By Divine Right . Last year's full-band follow-up, Gravestone Rock , affirmed the band's quirky, punchy [...]
The Toronto band The Skeletones Four have released their first album "Gravestone Rock" August 23, 2011. Might I add hardly holding myself back, "Hooolyy can they play a live show! I found myself in some type of music hypnosis asking other smiling beer holding audience members, "this is sooo dope, right?!" "Totally, rad!" and carried out our enthusiastic conversations over their music in similar cult-802s-High-School-movies fashion about how blown away we where by their performance. Apparently this is something that happens quite often when going to a live Skeletones Four show. More [...]
![The Skeletones Four & The Soirée @ Raw Sugar Cafe [October 19, 2011]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3803533_lg.jpg)
It was nice intimate rock night show at Raw Sugar Cafe on October 19, 2011. Playing at the show was: The Skeletones Four The Soirée Not sure if this was The Skeletones Four's first time in Ottawa? (Wakefield doesn't count) Ottawa's The Soirée started off the set. I haven't seen them [...]
Uh oh, we're some two weeks away from the 2011 Halifax Pop Explosion, and our mission to post a song from every act playing this years festivus looks to be in jeopardy of failing. But no, I will not let that happen! We made a promise to do this thing no one really cares about or even expects us to complete, yet complete it we will. Granted, we might have to do a bunch of posts like this to come close to getting every act actually featured, but we'll do whatever it takes! [...]

In catching up on my last night at Pop Montreal 2011 . After seeing The Lighthouse and the Whaler at Quai des Brumes. Toronto's (or Guelph) The Skeletones Four was next to go up. I only caught two songs but it was great to see some Toronto acts that played at the festival showed their support for them. Their music is Psychedlic Garage Rock. With all Pop Montreal on a Saturday, it seems to be "Check out Toronto bands on Saturday during Pop Motnreal". They are a play to [...]

Punctum The Skeletones Four - "Sexy Breakfast" This has nothing to do with a sexy breakfast. It has to do with swaggering as you read instruction manuals, slipping confidently into life-jackets, being handsome & prudent at the same time. The Skeletones Four aren't going to get tricked again. They're not gonna slip on any girls' shadows. Their band is tight as a new bicycle chain, as sunbeams through a plexiglass window. [

featuring Green Go, Ruby Coast, Pick A Piper and The Skeletones Four It was with grand enthusiasm that I was looking forward to this particular landmark on the local indie music scene. Whether she knows it or not, Lauren Schreiber has been personally responsible for a healthy percentage of my local musical knowledge, having introduced me to some excellent bands by means of her No Shame Concert Series. And this special commemorative show was destined to be pretty special with its inclusion of a couple of established greats along with a couple [...]

Tyler and I gathered at Lauren Schreiber's place for a conversation with her and Jessica Tollefsen from Green Go . Lauren's celebrating 100 No Shame shows this Friday at the Horseshoe Tavern. (Details about that are here .) Featuring Deerhoof ("Spirit Ditties of No Tone"), Pick A Piper ("Yellowknife"), Ruby Coast ("Town to Province"), Green Go ("Watch Your Step"), Windom Earle ("Get On Into It"), and Hooded Fang ("Fall Leaves"). Listen at Zygiella [...]

Frank Yang It's been almost a year since Caribou's Dan Snaith walked off the stage, giant cheque in hand, having been crowned the 2008 Polaris Music Prize winner for his stunning record Andorra . But since then, things have been largely silent in camp Caribou since then, as Snaith was presumably hard at work on the follow-up record. Then in May, word of a live show for the Fall. Not a tour, but the sort of special event that happens when Wayne Coyne [...]

Although there are many great music series, festivals and events in the city of Toronto, very few compare with the excellent No Shame Music Series that has been taking place for a few years now. This a music series that prides itself in not simply giving in to popular opinion, or the fickle musical tastes of the average Toronto-based indie music snob. On the contrary, this is a series that believes in taking risks, thriving on eclecticism, pushing boundaries and uniting different musical palates to converge on the same dance floor. It is a series that has successfully [...]
