Never Joy is the slightly dark and very promising debut from 18 year old Brighton indie folk musician Ed Tullett. You'll definitely hear some of the his influences here, specifically Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, Iron & Wine; all listed in his music collection on Tumblr. Never Joy was released this past December, with Ed accomplishing the writing, recording and production all in one room. The rest of the album is also pretty amazing beyond this track, Skeleton. It's full of falsettos, beautiful indie folk harmonies, and laced with plenty of uplifting banjo plucking to [...]
I was very exited to hear that after five years without releasing any material New York Classic Mc Aesop Rock is back with a new album 'Skelethon', out July 10 through Rhymesayers. Steam... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

There are a couple cool things about this song. 1. Ray Barbee was/is an iconic professional skateboarder that makes some jazzy music. 2. Mochipet was once remixed by Ana Sia, who thinks I'm hilarious... but doesn't return my calls anymore. Fingerbanger 1 : Mochipet & Ray Barbee - Forwards Back (don lowed) -- Rule #933 : The world has no use for a man that wont get his hands dirty. Fingerbanger 2 : J.Baracuz - Jazzy Conqueror (don lowed) [...]

Uncle Skeleton - Sophisticuffs I came across this delightful release earlier this week on Yewknee , whose experimental imprint, YK Records , happens to be putting out this little beaut. And when I say beaut, I mean it. It's magically packaged as a double LP, providing the perfect listening experience for the "four movements" of the record; and that masterful artwork by Michael Eades (the Yewknee man himself)! All Too Human [...]

Fiona Apple "Every Single Night" Sometimes a singer tells you exactly what they're all about in one perfect, crystal clear line, and that happens in this song as Fiona Apple repeats "I just want to feel everything," wringing out every syllable until it drips with emotion. "Every Single Night" has a typically ornate Apple melody, but its arrangement is strict and skeletal. She's gone minimal before, but this is a different approach – she drops a linear, conventional accompaniment in favor of carefully selected tones that support a vocal melody that would hold [...]

In January, Brooklyn Academy of Music announced that it would host a spring festival curated by the National's Bryce and Aaron Dessner, and today that event, called Crossing Brooklyn Ferry (a reference to this Whitman poem ), announced it's full lineup. It goes down 5/3-5/5. And, yeah, if you're into indie rock, skewing the more arrangement-heavy stuff, there's a ton to like here: Twin Shadow, the Walkmen, Sharon Van Etten, St. Vincent, the Antlers, Buke And Gase, Beirut, Atlas Sound and many others. Also, there's a film component that will utilize BAM's cinema, so if you're into that sort [...]
Such a cool video for Islands ' "Hallways". The upbeat track is catered by a set of skeleton marionettes handled by puppeteer Toben Seymour. At first, Nick Thorburn is a bit nervous about performing with these puppets, but soon he can't resist the fun anymore, and turns into one himself. The director of the video, Lex Halaby was inspired by the Max Fleischer cartoon, The Skeleton Dance (1929). This is the best thing you will see today. A Sleep & A Forgetting are out now. Islands [...]

Sampling and remixing Ellie Goulding is nothing new (and frankly borderline played out), but Terence Ryan is. Just like last week's Yeah Yeah Yeah's remix Skeletons , this one was written, produced & engineered by T. Ryan for his upcoming Skeleton EP. Connect with T. Ryan on twitter , tumblr & facebook to gear up for the EP!

Terence Ryan is a newcomer here at Colt-on. His flow definitely stands out once he gets started. Take a listen and we will keep you posted on his Skeleton EP coming out soon. Enjoy! I love bands, such as The Concretes and The Bird & The Bee, who combine catchy electro-pop with airy dream-pop. British "pop-noir trio" The Good Natured does exactly that on their new album, Skeleton. What sets The Good Natured's songs apart is the occasional splash of exotic strings or thunderous, syncopated beats. I'm enjoying this [...]

There's a touch of the Cohens and the Caves about new London act The Skeleton Dead 's sober indie-folk. The duo paint tender, sepia-coloured pictures, and their cosy harmonies suit perfectly these ever-darkening days. There's even a listening tip from the pair: "We'd suggest a few pints of bitter, a roaring fire and a packet of 20 Embassy No.1 to enhance your listening experience." It really is Christmas: The Skeleton Dead's entire, self-titled debut album is available for free download from their Bandcamp page .
