This is a UK music blog, but there is a tiny bit of music around the world you won't want to miss. Every week, I'll give you a digest of the best new music being enjoyed on far-away shores. First up are ' The Sky Drops ' with their shoegazy fuzzy beautiful crafted out of clouds and rocks. Mp3: " Green to Red " and " Now Would Be " Viva Voce put on one hell of a rock and roll show when I caught them last year, Husband and Wife duo have a great ballad [...]

While I was on vacation I received an EP from The Sky Drops. It's a nice mixture of My Bloody Valentine , Sonic Youth and Radiohead kind of thing and apparently everybody was blogging about this band back in may - go do your own reseach . The Sky Drops - Now Would Be (mp3) The Sky Drops - Green To Red (mp3) www.theskydrops.com [...]

I'm still not sure about MySpace yet. Is it useful or just plain evil? A place to meet and make friends or a black hole of hell where time slips by and disappears in a vast nothingness? I have my own page and by God do I waste a lot of time there doing absolutely nothing. Zero. Diddley squat. Honestly, time seems to stand statue still whil really it's rushing past blowing raspberries and flipping the bird as [...]
* * * * * The Sky Drops - Now Would Be The Sky Drops - Green To Red * * * * * It would be impossible to write about these two songs or this band without mentioning My Bloody Valentine, so I'll get that out of the way right now. But I also have to add that, unlike most bands recording songs in the tradition of [...]
In many ways, the amicable break-up is far more difficult than the alternatives. It can be hard to move on in a relationship (understandably) when neither party is guilty of fucking up in some way, and it's far, far easier to forgive and forget most of the time than it is to simply forget. [...]
Panda & Angel So I've been playing a lot of FIFA '06 lately. Maybe it's because I'm bored, or (probably) it's because we just kinda had a World Cup. I reenacted the France-Italy game this morning, and I just completely kicked booty, 6-2. If only there was some combination I could use for a raging Zidane headbutt attack. That would be badass. Lonesome Valley - Magnolia Electric Co. Return Of The Native - Early Day Miners The Operator - [...]

The Sky Drops hail from Delaware and include two members - Rob Montejo and Monika Bullette. If you don't know these two by name, perhaps you should. Rob was in the '90s shoegaze band Smashing Orange and Monika found success recently recording under the name Bullette . This post, however, is about the music they make together. Lovely, shoegaze-ish, fantastic music. They'll remind you of My Bloddy Valentine and Low - they remind me of how much I love it when a band gets in touch with me offering truly excellent [...]
Feist - Secret Heart (New U.S. Version) I'm not sure what the story is with this so called "New USA Secret Heart" that Feist put on her Myspace , but whatever it is, I'm super happy about it. The original version of the song is already one amazing piece of music, but on this one, the hesitation, the apprehension, the ever so detectable taunting in Feist's voice is brushed and stripped to tinted, fragile, beauty in the verses. And the chorus? The crashing of full instruments? A whole rush to contrast the tender quivers of [...]
