Thanks to the support of yourself and the online community, The Blue Note recently reached a little over 5,000 downloads, an achievement that everyone involved in the project is very proud of at this moment, but one that I won't be basking in for too long haha (and trust me, things have moved forward since its release). Wow! Look at this mess! I can't believe I actually went to see The Slew on September 7th. Being a last minute decision to attend this show. and want to thank Exclaim! . It is sort of close to being at a Kid Koala show but with a band. Their set just blew me away and I was not expecting a intense heavy dance set! Apparently it was a short set due to being its their first album and a brand new act. [...]
The Slew - It's All Over The Slew - You Turn Me Cold It's been about a year since this massive Kid Koala-fueled, rock and turntablist combo collab was first officially released, and it's been a top favorite (and steady Liquid Jesus mainstay) ever since. Think one-of-a-kind, visceral vinyl-manipulation of booming, down-and-dirty blues-rock noise, and all of it pieced together so flawlessly that it quite effortlessly lives up it's aptly-named 100% moniker . Top 10 Genre-Crossing Records
This may be a weird article. Perhaps the first thing you may notice is that Aerosmith/Run DMC's "Walk This Way" collab is not on the list. This is because I think Aerosmith is garbage and Run DMC is outdated. I'm sorry, but both statements are true. This is not to say I don't appreciate what Run DMC has done for hip hop, because I most definitely respect the greats, but in this modern era we have better genre-crossing tracks that are far less gimmicky. Again I apologize to any Run DMC fanatics. I'm not [...]
