I really am forgetful. [pause] Now that comment has had time to settle, please, please, please, please do not expect regularity with my blog. Regularity is defined as posts everyday. I can post a couple times a week depending on my work-load and partying-load (yes, I am a terrible person). So I'm still laughing at George W. Bush talking about "the google" and "the internets" but that aside, I have some... real stuff. [...]
The Slip - Even Rats The Slip - If One Of Us Should Fall Album: Eisenhower Released November 7, 2006 on Bar/None The Slip's Website The Slip on Myspace Buy Eisenhower I meant to post a couple of tracks from these guys last week, but I got sidetracked by the new Harlem Shakes song and I was on the road [...]

The Slip! Very cool stuff. Vocals in the first song remind me of Modest Mouse a little, which is great. Love it! Anyway, they're apparently being helped out by Drew Malamud, who worked with the Stars, Metric, and The Dears. I think that's a very, very good sign! Touring with The Lovely Feathers for a while, then My Morning Jacket. (Check the MySpace for dates, but let me just mention that they're coming to D.C.!) Their new album (see above!) comes out November 7th...so be prepared. [...]

I`ve wanted to talk about the band Uncut and the new album Modern Currencies for awhile..But I had 125 albums to share with ya, and havn`t really gotten a chance to discuss the new record yet...Keep in mind before hearing the new disk I had only herd maybe 3 songs from Uncut before in my life. If you come here often then you know I am a huge fan of Derek`s old band Radioblaster ...so obviously after a few listens of the new album I was a fan..They were supposed to open for K-Os [...]

As a diehard Yankees fan (yeah, shoot me), some of my friends have the assumption that I despise bands from Boston. That's rubbish. While it is true I am no fan of their beloved Red Sox, the music scene in Boston has always sounded fresh and engaging to me. Also, how can you not love bands such as The Cars, The Lemonheads, and Pixies? Boston's own The Slip was formed in 1995 with the simple aspirations of being a classic rock cover band, originally consisting of Jon Myers, with brothers Brad and Andrew Barr. Their original songwriting started [...]

[ Photo Credit ] My Morning Jacket has been pretty quiet...even with the release of a double-live album, titled Okonokos . But, I stumbled upon information for their upcoming tour while I was checking out The Slip. For the shows outside of the Metro D sphere of influence, you can find more information at MyMorningJacket.com . The majority of the pre-sales are already closed, but the pre-sale for the 9:30 Club shows (27 & 28 November) go on October 19th. I missed these guys at Coachella because they were opposite TV On The [...]
Following up my latest podcast , here is a full show featuring the Slip from earlier this month. The files are mp3 and they should be in nice, downloadable chunks... Remember what the tapers say, though! This is an MP3 copy and should not be circulated for trading purposes; only use these tracks for personal use... Without further ado... Out the Other has started an Austin City Limits music festival preview blog and she's got a long way to go! I'll be keeping up, though. Brooklynvegan put up another round of Bonnaroo photos , but the ones of Shooter Jennings with Drea de Matteo alongside the stage are the best to me. Adriana ! JamBase wraps up Bonnaroo 2006. Phish's Live in Brooklyn CD set got previewed on Sirius last night -- [...]
