In an effort to somewhat merge the AD show on XMU with that of the blog proper, this is the first of what will most likely become a recurring series. After the jump, check a selection of 27 (mostly) new-ish tracks I've been spinning over the past few weeks - 1/2 of which have not [...]

Earlier this month, San Diego's The Soft Pack gave us a taste of what is to come when it unveiled its newest and greatest single, "Answer to Yourself" . Come February 2nd, you'll finally be able to pony up to the table of the much hyped indie rockers and divulge on their debut studio album. The self-titled affair is the band's first foray into the full-length realm, having only previously released singles and EPs under this name and their old Muslims moniker. Their no frills brand of rock has been likened to the Strokes, [...]

In preparation for the "debut," the band's already released a single—the stiff chord-strumming frenzy of "Answer To Yourself"—and a video for the song (watch it over at Stereogum ). You can pre-order the album now at Insound. The Soft Pack - "Answer To Yourself" (from The Soft Pack ) [...]

So Stereogum told me The Soft Pack have a new video out for the track, "Answer To Yourself": The first song to leak from the band's 2010-slated album. This badass post-punk anthem of pride and determination has been set against the perfect backdrop: a pizza place. Sans the corny fight sequence, this hits closer to home--for me--than you'll ever know.MP3: The Soft Pack- "Answer To Yourself"For info

I've been listening to The Soft Pack for a while now , back when they used to call themselves The Muslims . Even scored myself a first pressing of their limited run, shot-to-hell debut LP . It's been about a year and a half since I've heard anything from these up-and-comers. You can't imagine the sighs of relief I breathed when I learned their follow-up release was right around the corner. What do they sound like, you ask? It may sound cliché by now, but I liken the San Diego boys to The [...]
Black and White usually brings us back to more simpler times, right? Remember Pleasantville ? In the footage above, it brings the San Diegan Soft Packers back to a time when they answered to a pizza-slanging boss probably named Harry or Jim. The video for their new single "Answer To Yourself" was shot at Del Mar Pizza, a previous employer of the dudes when they resided in Del Mar, California. How else would Matt know how to open that huge can of tomato sauce? The perfect soft serve cone is not easy to produce on a first attempt and [...]
Music video for "Answer To Yourself" by the Soft Pack from the band's 2010 self-titled release.
You might recall that at the end of last month I posted a new track by the Soft Pack. It comes off their second album titled "The Softp Pack". The first single will be 'Answer To Yourself'. The ban has also revealed the details for the new album. You can see the... Click the link to read more

San Diego quartet the Soft Pack were called the Muslims when we suggested you keep your eyes on them . They shifted the name, but their Strokes-esque Stooges-inspired post-punk rock 'n' roll remains the same (even when they go acoustic ). They reminded me of a preppy Richard Hell and the Voidoids when I first heard them... that's still there. Ditto a modern Modern Lovers. So what else shifted? The group's recently done shows with Phoenix (who they've remixed ), Franz Ferdinand, the Last Shadow Puppets, and the Breeders and are about to release their self-titled [...]
The promising band formerly known as The Muslims is finally ready to release its debut full length album. The Soft Pack will be unloading The Soft Pack on February 2nd. Here's a look at the track list for what should be a catchy little album: C’mon Down On Loving Answer to Yourself Move Along Pull Out More Or Less Tides of Time Flammable Mexico Parasites "Answer To Yourself" is currently

Religion 101 Formerly named The Muslims, (the band changed their name in late 2008 because they "were disgusted with and exhausted by all of the ignorant, often racist, bullshit that came out of people's mouths during shows/interviews/conversations "), San Diego band The Soft Pack has recently released the first single from their upcoming debut album. Titled 'Answer To Yourself', the song will probably leave some fans divided as there's plenty of reasons to love or hate the song. It is a rather simple indie rock [...]
