by Bill Pearis Curtain Call for TSOOL, Stockholm 12/22/2012 (via @ alfredoanazco ) You said, "My idea when we started this band was that we were going to peak around 2012." Did you really believe that Ebbot Lundberg: Yes, I always did. Why did you say that? EL: Because I knew it could happen. And it did. For The Soundtrack Of Our Lives is an alternative stargate to something more relevant than this specific era in our [...]
Toch was het The Soundtrack Of Our Lives gelukt...

One crappy cellphone picture of THE SOUNDTRACK OF OUR LIVES at Waves Vienna, 5 October 2012, Flex TSOOL and their frontman Ebbot Lundberg stopped by at the Waves festival to play a farewell concert and for an interview at the conference. The latter took place at the same time as the music blog panel Astrid was in, representing Walzerkönig, while Isis and Lynette, conference volunteers, were busy trying to get Ebbot something to eat, so none of us Walzerköniginnen know how his interview went. But sources tell us (and that is a direct quote from a [...]

Frank Yang It would have been nice to think that the many well-dressed folks milling about on King West Saturday evening were winding their way to The Hoxton, where New Zealand's Pip Browne - aka Ladyhawke - was set to make her first Toronto appearance in almost three years exactly. But no, they were probably just out taking in the final night of TIFF , because The Hoxton was basically empty when I got there. Being an early show with a curfew, waiting around for the more fashionably late wasn't an option [...]

All good things must come to an end, and for but a few years short of these past twenty Gothenburg's The Soundtrack of Our Lives have been doing precisely that: ensuring good times continue to roll whilsy they soundtrack many a waking moment to many a reckless life. Tonight therefore represents the midst of the end, and indeed as far as the capital may be concerned, this is the one final hurrah from the ever absorbing Ebbot Lundberg et al. Apposite, therefore, that it should take place Under The Arches of Heaven. [...]
Se separan. The Soundtrack Of Our Lives , esa casi siempre genial banda de la costa oeste Sueca y más concretamente de Göteborg, acaban de anunciar su separación, después de seis trabajos de estudio, el último lanzado hace tan sólo unos meses. Throw It To The Universe es un álbum que, en palabras de Ebbot Lundberg, vocalista y fundador, completa la trayectoria musical de la banda, aunque choca que también admita que cuando empezaron, allá por 1995, creyeran que habrían alcanzado el culmen precisamente [...]

The eyes have it - Ty Segall Band release Slaughterhouse Words : Drake Lelane Welcome back Drake! - ed. I've been taken out of the game for a bit, thanks to Sasquatch! Music Festival (with editing nearly 5k photos) and a new job. There have been some great releases I've lost out on in the process (Fiona Apple's latest, for one), but I couldn't pass up this week's great releases from Ty Segall and DIIV [...]

Da haben die Schweden The Soundtrack Of Our Lives durchaus Stehvermgen bewiesen.

The Soundtrack Of Our Lives Throw It To The Universe Yep Roc Records [2012] Fire Note Says: TSOOL final curtain call Throw It To The Universe has all of their signature sound. Album Review: It has been 11 years since The Soundtrack Of Our Lives were in the big spotlight with a Grammy nod and a really stellar album in Behind The Music [2001] . [...]
How this music avoids slavish imitation or arena-rock cliche puzzles me. All I can say is that it remains fresh even as every note nods to a predecessor. I've always been impressed by this Swedish band's consistency. Each record sounds like the Who's anthems swirl and swell, circa 1970. While this sextet grew up as punks, since the mid-1990s they have delivered a series of solid albums hearkening back to classic AOR and FM staples forty-odd years ago. This sixth studio album sustains their approach. (I commend the past four releases for clever cover art.) Since I favor the [...]

You'll find plenty of great new music for the long days and late nights of summer among this week's new releases. aA reunited Beachwood Sparks offer sunny Cali vibes on their first album in 11 years, featuring a warm blend of folk, pop, and mellow psychedelia - just right for kicking back on your lawn or sitting out on the beach. You can hang out with your pals listening to The Flaming Lips ' Heady Fwends LP, previously available as a Record Store Day vinyl exclusive, now yours to pick up in CD form, featuring [...]

Wow - what a week. First off, Interpol's frontman, Paul Banks , blindsided us with Julian Plenti Lives... , which is the follow-up to his Julian Plenti is... Skyscraper album. No idea his 5-track EP was due today. We fell in love with Banks' last album and more particularly with " Only If You Run " back in 2009, which made our top 100 tracks for the year. This one will surely be worth listening. There are so many others we could mention in the second spot, but I'll justify that by breifly giving [...]

Nick Drake isn't here to celebrate his 64th birthday. We've chosen five artists to celebrate for him.

A few months ago, my friend Danielle and I decided to come together for a creative collaboration. I had written a little essay about food, music and the life that Matt and I share together, and we thought it would be fun to give a little visual perspective to it. I knew I would ask Danielle if she wanted to shoot some photos to bring my words to life. We decided to invite a few friends over for dinner, create a beautiful table setting, play some records, and capture the experience that I describe in my essay — [...]

The Soundtrack of our life ( TSOOL ).
