![[Introducing] – Pair Of Arrows](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4165504_lg.jpg)
So far San Francisco's Pair Of Arrows ( Swan Palermo on vocals, R/D White) have only one song to their name, but what a song it is! Already strongly established as a respected music act in the world of glitchhop/electronica, R/D spent several years finessing his skills producing his own music as well as performing alongside Beats Antique and Glitch Mob ; Swan was simultaneously working with those producers (including Eskmo ), laying down tracks characterized by a trip-hop/chillwave ambiance, all the while remaining devoted to penning personal compositions set to [...]

If you have been sitting under a rock and you have yet to listen to the Awesomeness that is Mason 's ' Superimposer ' EP then click here and go listen. Now the formalities are out of the way, we have been lucky enough to been given a free remix by the well known bro's Zombie Disco Squad . Their remix is highly differentiated from the original with a tech energy vibe and more consistant rolling motion in the groove. I feel this song would personally be [...]

Illustrious German producer Mason drops the Soulwax supported "Superimposer" on his own Animal Language imprint. The furious original sets the pace for some serious vibes with clunky drums and blopped-out bass, something new! Remixes come a-blundering from Zombie Disco Squad, Polymath, Arveene & Misk and Harvard Bass with an odd refurb thrown in for good measure. Did this just happen? Watch out 2012. Pair of Arrows make music, other than that we've no idea who they are. It's not because we're lazy, it's difficult when a musician submits music with nothing more than a sentence saying "download our free track". Whether it's because they want to remain anonymous or just aren't that interesting remains unclear, but, their latest freebie is pretty cool, in a drugged-out, emo, slow-mo, left-field pop kind of a way. www.facebook.com/PairOfArrows
Mason will be releasing his new EP 'Superimposer' in March, which taken from his new album 'Mason presents: Animal Language Refurbished'. The single is the usual fair of electro & house that, in all honesty, is a little stale for us, but we really liked the quirkiness of Arveene & Misk's remix. Look out for a release in March and check out the remix and original below and sample the whole thing here . Mason 'Superimposer' (Animal Language) - Released 5th [...]

I know the wildly variating themes of these mixes, week to week, is probably infuriating to some people. (That's assuming I have regular readers at this point as infrequent as my posting is here. I keep saying I'll do better, then I don't.) It may seem impossible that someone can love Unnatural Helpers and The Fresh & Onlys and still have time to not only listen to, but find merit in the new New Young Pony Club album. Well welcome to me. Man cannot live in Altered Zones 24 hours a day, not this one at least, and I don't [...]

It's funny how you can search for the perfect record to listen to, and then out of nowhere, you come across something new, something wonderful. London's The Superimposers won me over today as I grabbed a few tracks from their newest album Sunshine Pops . This is just classic pop in the best way, the kind that makes you see double rainbows on the horizon. One listen, and you'll surely feel the same. Download: The Superimposers - The Beach [MP3]
Band Bios: The Superimposers | The Boat People The Superimposers The Superimposers are a band that sound a bit like everything; Old and New, Valve and Digital, Fender and Mac and with inspirations diverse as Alice Coltrane to The Kinks, Brian Wilson to Ronnie Lane, Charles Stepney to The Mizzell Brothers, The Superimposers create a [...]
The Superimposers! Το σιροπιαστό baroque pop τρίο από το Bournemouth επιστρέφει τον Ιούλιο με το Sunshine pops! Ότι πιο ταιριαστό για τίτλο, μετά από το The Harpsichord Treacle του '08 για τους φίλους των Beach Boys, The Style Council, τις ταινίες του '60 και του Burt Bacharach. Ένα νέο τραγούδι στο myspace τους κι ένα video από τα παλιά για ένα χλιαρό μπάνιο -επιστροφή στην εποχή της αθωότητας και της Nonchalance. Sushine pop par excellence! [...]

It's the autumnal equinox today. I love that term. I wish I loved what it brings, but I don't. It's all downhill from here (unless you live in the southern hemisphere, of course, but I'm being hemispherically-centric today, sorry!). In fact, I think it's responsible in part for my recent mood swings. Not purely because of the physics of the matter, but for what it represents. Fall always seems like a time of loss for me. I feel it most acutely at this time of year. [...]

Or so say Josh Weller and Paloma Faith on their festive offering " Its Christmas And I Hate You " (YouTube above). I'm afraid it's that time of the year when people play music they wouldn't tollerate on any of the other 364 days of the year. Here's Music Like Dirt's festive countdown, featuring music thats actually both Christmassy AND good. Merry Christmas. 1. Kelpe - Silent Night One of my favourite acts of the year, Kelpe , on possibly the label of the year, DC Recordings. [...]

Never work with children, animals or musicians they say. The latest edition of " Listen To This " has been in the pipeline so long one of the bands have split up! Apparently touring and making fantastic music is more important than writing for random music blogs... some people just don't have their priorities right!! (Only joking, thanks go to both bands for taking part). Music Like Dirt is pleased to have two of its most blogged about bands taking part in " Listen To This [...]

In part one Glass Shark & The Superimposers had each other dreaming of cover versions. Glass Shark heard echoes of Dusty in Citizen Helene while The Supers imaged Stevie Nicks reworking the pared down beauty of Jenny Lindfors. Glass Shark also got the Superimposers all excited by Machines before breaking it to them that they'd already split. Long time readers of this blog (no really there are some) will be familiar with The Superimposers. Back in January readers could win their latest album simply by emailing [...]

When I finished this one I thought it was the weirdest, most disjointed yet with obscure synthpop, Northern Soul, reggae, '90s indie rock, new Fugiya & Miyagi and one of the weirdest records of the year. (Wild Beasts.) It's also got my first-ever attempt at ripping vinyl -- The Gist's "This is Love" -- which I've also included here as a separate download because I figured somebody might want it on it's own and it's never been released on CD (or digitally). But after walking around with it on headphones, I declare it a success. Hope you like it. We've [...]
