There's something oddly familiar about The Svengalis. Before I'd even listened to them, I was pretty certain that they had been around a while and were that the NME had been raving about them. I'm not entirely sure how I came to either of these conclusions. It all meant I felt rather stupid when I discovered they had only started gigging back in September, and despite getting some love from Steve Lamacq the press hasn't paid a great deal of attention to them.
