Amid a single release package where every other mix is as good as its last, 'L.G.F.U.' is a perfect example of when its Original is stunning, the remixes that follow are as equally as splendid to intertwine with most sections of any global dance floor around. Trailblazing his own quirky Ableton & Pro Logic skills across these two main productions, Tom Piper (alongside the equal assistance of Switch, Daniel Farley and all the other parties concerned) make this a longevity-fuelled success of electronic art. Promotion of this quality, should never ever be limited. [...]
You've probably heard this song on the new Internet Explore ad. If you're like me you shun IE, but this song is dope. I can see Microsoft is clearly trying to make IE look badass/cool/hip/trendy. Admirable efforts with this great Alex Clare/Diplo collaboration. Buy Too Close on iTunes Buy Alex Clare's new album, The Lateness of The Hour, on iTunes

Production efforts from Diplo and Switch resulted in this track for Alex Clare, "Too Close." This track isn't all around brand new joint, but it's worth a spin and it's still pretty young. The vocals over the womp works really well. Alex Clare - "Too Close" Prod. Diplo & Switch
Last summer we posted a photo from Major Lazer's visit to No Doubt laboratories, where Diplo and Switch made nice with Gwen Stefani's crew and, according to @NoDoubt's tweet that day , worked on a collabo track called "Push And Shove." That demo has survived every subsequent production, label, and band meeting to the point that it's official recording is the subject of this little webisode in which No Doubt look incredibly well preserved and discuss the means via which this artist-merger came to pass. (Hint: Jimmy Iovine.) You'll hear bits of the song, paired with confessionals [...]

902s pop-rock band No Doubt are done recording their yet-to-be-named 6th studio album with an official release slated for September! To coincide with the announcement comes the first webisode spotlighting the band in the studio with mentions of Major Lazer aka super producers Diplo and Switch and their work on the track "Push & Shove" - although they are thought to be behind more than just the one track. An official statement released on the site reads "We are incredibly excited to share the new music with [...]
Hare's a short video of No Doubt in the studio recording a track for their upcoming album due out sometimes in September 2012. You can sort of hear a snippet of their new tune. Is's very dancey! Why is No Doubt featured in this blog? Because, this new song is produced by our favorite producer Switch & Diplo a.k.a. Major Lazer and features Busy Signal . We were big No Doubt fans growing up. When our favorite growing up band teams up with our favorite producers, it tends to [...]

Monday Music's the one weekly post where Some Of It Was True! drops its London-only focus. Dirty Gold - California Sunrise Ahhh, is that ocean spray on my face? No, its mild acid rain. BUT I CAN DREAM. San Diegan Dirty Gold's California Sunrise has that hazy, happy summer sound, with seagulls (literally, seagulls squawking. Nothing beats the power of suggestion) and sand being kicked in your eyes as you skip over dunes, laughing, smiling, having fun. Until you fall and land on [...]
This song has been bouncing around on the interwebs for the past few days. It's also been growing on me with each listen. Major Lazer aka Diplo and Switch bring in Amber Coffman of The Dirty Projectors to sing on this bouncy pop jam. via
Possibly my favourite song ever! It's the new one from Major Lazer that first appeared on their album preview video filmed in Jamaica back in June of last year. This has been on repeat for the past 72 hours and I have no plan on putting a stop to it. If you haven't already you can download the full 320kbps version for FREE by clicking the link below, you also get a Japanese karaoke style remix from Bonde do Role ... hmmm. This past Monday Major Lazer (Diplo + Switch) released their dreamy summer track "Get Free" featuring Dirty Projector's lead singer and venturing solo artist Amber Coffman. "Get Free" cruises along with it's arm out the window at an easy 88bpm, wind in it's face, with Amber's powerful and eerie vocals howling, pushing a solid summer groove. The Projects' own San Francisco based techno producer Nolan Gray's remix of "Get Free" takes a fantastic song deeper into the club by stepping on the gas and bringing the bpm up to a danceable 108. Boasting a beefy bassline with powerful melodic synths, [...]

He might not be dapper, but this cartoon can dagger. Major Lazer, the souped-up, one-armed, 802s-style animated soldier alter ego of Diplo and Switch, switches gears from his usual cage-dancing jump-offs to a slower, more heartfelt anthem with "Get Free," featuring vocals from Dirty Projectors' Amber Coffman. The collaboration highlights what both sides do best; the DJs' irresistible hooks coupled with Coffman's detached wailing creates a post-apocalyptic odyssey of a track, a vibe their video plays off as it follows Lazer from piles of dinosaur bones to open space, where he's destined to shoot lasers into the nothingness alone. It's [...]
Major Lazer is back and teamed up with Amber Coffman of Dirty Projectors to deliver some beautiful soundscapes and heavy lyrics that immediately give me flashbacks to Coachella 2010. Major Lazer and Dirty Projectors where highlights for me that magical/inspirational weekend, especially Dirty Projectors who helped my mind grow exponentially in all directions. Keep an eye out for officially release dates for Major Lazer album and tour and go here for Dirty Projects summer tour schedule. Big ups to our long lost Dank Radio comrade D$ for putting me up on this one, its definitely [...]
