When the Temper Trap told NME their new album "could be considered dark and gloomy" , evidently they weren't talking about the first single from it, 'Need Your Love', which at least from the outset sounds like a forward-thinking power ballad. Unnecessary violence in this promo in my opinion but I get their point, which was to rip off a classic '80s 'underdog' film. It seems like ages ago but the Aussies were underdogs of the music world not so long ago. Even I had reservations about their first [...]

photo by Dave Lichterman Today on the Midday Show, Cheryl waters premiered the title track to the forthcoming album by The Walkmen (due June 5). If you missed it or want to listen to it again, here's "Heaven": The Temper Trap's self-titled second studio album will be out a couple weeks earlier, on May 21, , but you can check out their newest single, "Need Your Love," today: [...]
Feel like invoking the spirit of The Karate Kid ? Well the TEMPER TRAP prove that Mr. Miyagi is still boss, via their comeback video, NEED YOUR LOVE .
The Temper Trap , the Australian outfit whose 2009 album Conditions served as a fantastic debut aided by the incredibly catchy single "Sweet Disposition," is back with a new album and a new single to go with it. The band will follow up their 2009 debut with a brand new self-titled effort set for release on June 5th via Glassnote Records/Columbia, and the song "Need Your Love" will serve as the lead single. The song showcases the expansion of the band to a five-piece, featuring Joseph Greer on keyboard and guitar, and will no doubt be this album's [...]

New Music Video You Gotta See This! Love, Loss, Pain, Regret, Redemption - " Need Your Love " is the story of all these things. The video, Directed by Dugan O'Neal in Los Angeles, takes the new Temper Trap song and stretches it over the skein of the first Karate Kid movie. What you have is a different, but a satisfying ending... [...]
I absolutely love this clip for the first single from The Temper Trap's forthcoming self-titled sophomore LP. Any fan of Karate Kid parodies should too. It asks the question "What happened to Johnny after Daniel beat his ass with the crane technique?" The answer is nothing but awesomeness. It's hard to believe it's been 3 [...]
New video for new song "Need Your Love" from upcoming self-titled sophomore album (that is so 'Bon Iver' of you Temper Trap). Not really too crazy about this song I have to admit, but I guess we will see what the rest of the album ends up sounding like.
The Temper Trap were catapulted to borderline absurd levels of popularity with the help of "Sweet Disposition" and their debut album Conditions back in 2009. Looking back, I pretty much said this exact same sentence when I posted "Rabbit Hole", a first look off of their new album. Fast-forwarding to the chase here: "Need Your Love" is the title track, and it's unfairly addictive. Working on my fourth spin over here, and there are no signs of slowing down. Stream only unfortunately; but keep an eye out for the album release on June 5th. Tweet

Back in 2009, Temper Trap seemed nearly inescapable. They parlayed the melancholic, poppy stylings of the best tracks on their debut album, Conditions , into mainstream popularity through their inclusion on soundtracks and commercials - most notably the use of "Sweet Disposition" in (500) Days of Summer . Presumably, there's a whole host of fans waiting to see if the Australian group can strike gold twice, and "Need Your Love" is the first indicator that, yes, they probably can. "Need Your Love" lacks the sharp sadness mixed in with the infection melodies of their calling card [...]
Australian indie-rockers The Temper Trap , are back with a brand new track " Need Your Love ", which is the leadoff single to their new self titled record which is slated to drop May 18th, 2012. Lead singer Dougy Mandagi abandons the falsetto vocals of their major crossover hit "Sweet Disposition" in favour of a strong tenor with an anthemic chorus chant, backed by deep pounding drums, airy guitar leads reminiscent of " The Edge " , and a pulsing saw synth bass. There's a glorious feel to the entire track, with it's bittersweet theme awash [...]

New release from The Temper Trap, "Need Your Love," from their sophomore effort to be released thru Glassnote Records. Not quite having the backbone of their smash single "Sweet Disposition," this new song should leave fans wondering what will come next from the group that hails from Australia. The Temper Trap - "Need Your Love"
The Australian band best known for the epic earworm "Sweet Disposition" (popularized by the prototypical indie romcom 500 Days of Summer ) is back with a new album and new single. Following up 20092s generally well received Conditions , Temper Trap will release a self-titled sophomore album on June 5th through indie hitmakers Glassnote Records. "Need Your Love" is the album's first single and it deploys the grandiose indie rock tropes the band works best with. Continue reading: New: The Temper Trap - "Need Your Love" Read more [...]
Listen to The Temper Trap 's newest single "Need Your Love" below, from their upcoming self-titled album. The Temper Trap returns with "Need Your Love" , their first single since they released their debut album, 20092s "Conditions" , which will be on their second-full length, "The Temper Trap" , due for release on June 5th via Glassnote Records . The release of their self-titled album leads up to an 11-date tour across America, including a recently added second appearance at the renowned Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival . [...]
Brooklyn-based indie band Riot !n Paris have released "Disposition", the first single off of their upcoming album Sample Sale. The track, which features an innovative reworking of the hit Temper Trap song "Sweet Disposition" perfectly sets the tone for their upcoming release, with its unique blend of indie rock and underground hip hop. These guys [...]

The Temper Trap made a triumphant return to DC after two years when they co-headlined with Florence and the Machine. Sadly for the Temper Trap, that night was Florence Welch's second-ever performance in the United States, and it overshadowed the Aussie band. (Read the review of that gig here ). This gig was nothing like that. Supporting them was New York-based Penguin Prison. An electro-pop band, I was curious as to the combination of them and the Temper Trap, but it worked really quite [...]
San Diego, CA's Crocodiles are confirmed to support The Temper Trap on a set of North American tour dates in June. Beginning on the 10th at the House of Blues in Dallas, TX, the run will continue up the West Coast before wrapping up on the 19th at the Malkin ...
I've been off from blogging since I got my new DJ controller, Novation Twitch. The gear is just great and I can't stop playing it. Also Danaya, our guess blogger, has started The Foreverkids and want me to be part of the DJ crew. Anyway, it doesn't mean I'll stop blogging forever but I'd have to admit the post will be less often. Well, less in quantity doesn't mean less in quality. The song I'm going to post can be a good proof about that. "Rabbit Hole" [...]
First of all, lemme just say that the El Rey Theatre is one of my two all time favorite venues (Troubador being the other). It's classy, it's clean, the staff is nice, and there isn't a bad view in the ... Continued
Every date on the Temper Trap 's recent hastily announced but swiftly sold out North American tour was sold out, including DC's (Cheryl's review of it will follow soon) and the night before, at Brooklyn's Music Hall of Williamsburg. The band will play in the UK in May ; many dates are already sold out, so act fast if you want to see them! Read Cheryl's single review of 'Need [...]
