It doesn't take too much to get me hooked on indie pop; I like casual melodies and simple hooks. When I got this new track from The Tins , I definitely got that anxious indie pop feeling...somewhere between The Shins and Avi Buffalo . It's perfect tunes to give you that longing feeling as you look out your window onto a bright sunny day. This is from their Life's a Gas album, and it's really got me in the mood to get outside and play. There's [...]

There is something really beguiling about Tin Sparrow 's latest release. The Sydney folk quartet have definitely distinguished themselves from the pack. Rising from their yet-to-be-named forthcoming EP, 'Hector Myola' has a marching beat, beautiful vocals and a sweet driving guitar hook that makes me really excited to hear the rest of what Tin Sparrow have under wraps. Tin Sparrow - Hector Myola by Tin Sparrow To record their second EP (Out early 2012), Tin Sparrow made the trek up to Cairns to work with [...]
Yet another entertaining band from Brisbane, Australia, fivesome Tin Can Radio have released their first-ever music video with the clip for "Hot Trash." A little more than 30 seconds into the song, the intro cuts loose and what breaks free are some thoroughly enjoyable guitar licks. It's the kind of song that would fit a [...]

Tin Armor Life of Abundance (Self-released) I remember liking Tin Armor's Art of the Underground single, so I was happy when their full-length, Life of Abundance, showed up in the mail. Unfortunately, I couldn't remember a damned thing about the single, other than it was kind of poppy. The instant the needle dropped on ...

Hidden Shoal Recordings is proud to announce the release of single 'Machine Is My Animal (Tin Manzano remix)' , taken from the forthcoming album Remixed by dreampop/shoegaze trio City Of Satellites , and its stunning accompanying video. Tin Manzano's re-working of the title track from City Of Satellites' debut album Machine Is My Animal weaves and loops the original's guitar hook amid electronic beats and surging, breathy textures. The result is a gorgeously seductive instrumental, in which restraint and space are as alluring as the sounds blooming across the stereo [...]

Fonzarelli – Last Chance Summer Dance Tsurumi Records keeps on expanding and keeps on releasing one quality punk release after the next. Spinning on the turntable today, in beautiful royal blue wax, is their latest Jack Endino produced platter, Fonzarelli, and their debut Last Chance Summer Dance . And let me say, this definitely won't be Fonzarelli's last chance. Packing in more hooks than you could find at a bass fishing tournament, and marrying those hooks to Endino's punchy production, [...]

What does it take to form a band? The Tins can tell you.

Last night I went down to the Kings Cross Hotel for FBi social and caught Tigertown, Tin Sparrow and Founds - or more should I say, they caught me. Fanboy Alex is on the prowl, again... Openers Tigertown . They're totally harmless, smoothly rolling out some of the smoothest indie-folk around. The seven piece bask in a couple of indie cliches - mandolin, extraneous floor toms, pan-pipey keys - but executed them with class & aplomb. At points I felt like I was floating in and out of an indie dream, nursed by these sweet, rolling tunes. Therein lies [...]
