Wildabeast – Who Knows [Video]

Wildabeast - "Who Knows." (Official Music Video)
I'm always skeptical of a rapper resorting to dubstep (especially since the genre makes my ears bleed), but I must say, Wildabeast kills it...and Joey Angerone provides perfect visuals. Shout out to Jelani for the heads up.

Thrash Hits TV: Black Veil Brides vs The Fans

Thrash Hits TV: Black Veil Brides vs The Fans
A long, long, long time ago, we solicited our readers with the opportunity to submit questions that we'd ask Black Veil Brides the next time we interviewed them. And what with Black Veil Brides being...errr....somewhat enthusiastic regarding their favourite band, we got rather a lot of questions - more than we had time to ask them in fact. So far, so good, right? Well, it would be, had we not rather foolishly ended up filming the interview in a darkened backstage dressing room, with a camera that is about as much use [...]

Cars and guns and tits and music: Drive soundtrack

Cars and guns and tits and music: Drive soundtrack Brum brum. We just saw the film Drive . It made us sad that we don't review films because if we did we would have given it 6 out of 5. Luckily, Drive also has a brilliant soundtrack. The main score (the boring incidental music that no-one really cares about) is by Cliff Martinez . He used to be the drummer in Red Hot *vom* Chilli Peppers. It's good and electronic and atmospheric, but there is no singing. What got us really excited was the inclusion of Kavinsky 's 'Nightcall'. [...]

Mastodon release a "proper" promo to 'Curl Of The Burl'

Mastodon: Curl Of The Burl [Official Video]
A few weeks ago, Mastodon premiered a "video" for 'Curl Of The Burl', the second track from their astonishing new album, The Hunter. The video was a bit bland - just some visualisation effects laid on some uninspiring footage of a forrest. We didn't really give two hoots at the time, given that we were [...]

JERRY GARCIA: STILL DEAD

Jerry Garcia during a recent live performance. Jerry Garcia died sixteen years ago today from being an overweight drug addict, and the anniversary interests me mostly because I remember exactly where I was when I heard that Garcia was dead, and, holy shit, I can't believe it was sixteen years ago. But Shadows Fall front [...]

10 Photos From The 2011 Mermaid Day Parade

10 Photos From The 2011 Mermaid Day Parade Photos by G. Mermaid Day Parade 2011 The Mermaid Day parade in Coney Island in New York celebrates the coming of summer. Held on the first Saturday of the summer each year, people come in from all over New York to rejoice and celebrate that we've all made it through another year. I've been coming to the Mermaid Day Parade since I moved to New York (except one year where it rained) and it's really an event that you can't miss. Everyone is so free. You [...]

Stuart Whitton Interview

It's been a hot minute since we featured an artist, so we got illustrator Stuart Whitton to drop the knowledge on his detailed pencil drawings and the influences he takes from the world around him.

Chris Thompson

London-based illustrator and motion designer Chris Thompson has created a nice series of abstract images titled Hidden Landscapes.

Dirk Dzimirsky

Believe it or not, German illustrator Dirk Dzimirsky uses nothing but graphite pencils or charcoal to produce these detailed portraits.

Craptical

Illustrator Craptical, aka Ryan Riss has been getting busy creating these weird, fucked up (but nicely-executed) black and white line drawings.

HSB Brides (With Tuvshin Bolor)

We've been going wedding CRAZY this week so we thought it fitting to get pocket-sized Mongol Tuvshin Bolor back for a post, doing what he does best.

John J. O'Connor

New York artist John J. O'Connor has been creating these weird psychedelic drawings for a hot minute now, and despite their appearance, probably didn't hit any DMT in the process.

Jason Bard Yarmosky

New York painter Jason Yarmosky shows there's a difference between growing old and growing up.

Sean Norvet

We have literally nothing to say about this guy. All we know is that he's done some great portraits.

HSB Cars of the 1960s

We were getting bored of heartstoppingly beautiful people, so here's a selection of some of most heartstoppingly beautiful cars of the 1960s.
