As an adventure, Thursday was an amazing day. Around 3:20 PM, Cut Copy sent out a bulletin that they would be performing in San Diego, for free. We are all too familiar with "Bright with Neon Love," their seminal LP. We all know well the curves to that LP, the dips and corners, what's to be expected and what will be sung, our favorite songs, repeated to add-infinitum, and it is able to provide the same comfort every time. I'll be the first admit: I never gave Cut Copy a fair chance, a mistake many [...]

I've been obsessing about them for a while, I know. But here's a mixtape from The Twelves. Big thanks from bigstereo , the source of the mix. There's a couple new remixes in this mix of theirs, the Black Kids and Thieves Like Us which I've already posted, another one of Theatre of Disco and Chromatics which I haven't found yet. A great mix though, I love the transitions. It's something everyone always overlooks where ever they go, but it's so important! The Twelves seem to specialize in this. But next time [...]

This week i'm going to behold upon the internet the lost art of the DJ mix set. We've got two gems of internet booty for you in Treasure Fingers mix 40 minutes in the Champagne Room and 30 minutes of the the Twelves . Fools Gold Atlanta DJ Treasure Fingers kills this mix, its probably the first 40 minute [...]

Since the last remix of "Ce Jeu" , The Twelves have put out an excellent 30 minute mix. While in large part they belong to and are influenced by the sounds coming from other places around the world, their is a consistent fresh breath to what's going on with their music. Included in this mix are three new remixes. The Twelves write: "The Black Kids remix will be a iTunes exclusive on the single. The T.O.D. remix has no release date yet." The Black Kids remix can be heard in its entirety [...]
First off, the Risky Bizniss party was fucking incredible on Saturday night. I didn't leave the warehouse unitl 5:30 in the morning and there was still a sizable crowd inside. Back when people were going to raves in the US, I was like 12 or 13, so I don't know what they are like apart from depictions in movies. But I would have to say that the Risky Bizniss party felt as close to a rave as any party I've ever attended. Watch out for the Manifesto Party at the same spot March 22. Mark your calenders. [...]

The Twelves sent over their brand new mixtape - sneak a peak at two brand new remixes for Theatre of Disco and Black Kids that you haven't yet heard. Plus, um Chromatics... can't go wrong there. Yeah, so I know this post may be a little belated considering that The Twelves have already appeared on all these blogs. That said, I have no shame in reiterating the fact that these guys are hella good. The Twelves, of Rio De Janerio, Brazil, have become darlings of some of the more influential blogs , however, owe little to these bastions of underground musical promotion. Their adeptness at turning out simple, nuts and bolts, upbeat electro edits would have broke into the conciseness of most, even without said publicity. These dudes certainly [...]

Like an umbilical cord, these are the songs that we are attached to and can't get enough of. Singles: Keren Ann - Lay Your Head Down Her voice reminds me of Neko Case and she really pushes a hard bargain with the lyric "Lay your head down in my arms"...count me in. Those lyric repeated over and over with a great voice, the occasional violin and harmonica, capped off with addictive claps and you got yourself a song that i wanna lay my head [...]

So these guys are amazing, right? Yeah. Pretty much. J. and Luciano are the Twelves , two dudes (and an occasional female vocalist) from Brazil pedlling some of the finest synth-loving electro pop around at the moment. The guys have been tearing up the blogs with their remixes lately and for good reason. Their take on Asobi Seksu's Thursday is bliss and the remix of M.I.A.'s Boyz is on fire. Easily one of the best remixes of the year right there. Asobi Seksu - Thursday (The Twelves [...]

Oh brazil, HOW I LOVE THEE, let me count the ways. I wouldn't have half of my music without that awesome giant country that lies somewhere in this continent people call South America?... I think that's what that area is called. I'd like you to meet J.Mig and Matuto of the Twelves . Their melodic electronic beats are making me wish for a coconut cup and sunglasses. They did an amazing remix of M.I.A.'s Boyz that rules over any of the other remixes I've heard. Also, their remix of Thursday by Asobi Seksu is pretty much candy corn and [...]

The Twelves come from Rio de Janiero, Brazil....well, they practically came out of nowhere. I haven't heard much about them, except for their remixes popping up here and there in the blog world. But for two up-and-coming guys, they sure did a kickass job on both the MIA and the Asobi Seksu tracks. They hinted that their next remix was gonna be for a pretty big label...a BigStereo favorite, to be exact. Hurry up, guys, I dont think I can wait. The Twelves - The Other Side [...]

I was really bummed about a particular issue awhile back for a couple of reasons. One of my favorite bands had broken up and the last album(s) they released were only available as imports which I couldn't rightfully afford. The band is Nottingham, England's Six. By Seven. They announced around the time of the release of 2005's Artists Cannibals Poets Thieves that they would stop touring and the band would be dissolved. Of course they had solo projects with Chris Olley working on his Twelve project along with his new electro clash outfit [...]
