Además del ya comentado tienen otros tres, "talking with fireworks", "walking for two hours" y "that summer at [...]

Credit: Susana Meza (via KEXP blog ) I guess it was a sign that while having lunch with co-workers at a newish (well, new to me) cafe one day last week, the Twilight Sad was playing over the speakers in the restaurant (compliments to the playlist maker). Just the previous week, I had been jotting down my favorite albums of the year, and I completely forgot about Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters , which seems fitting considering one of the main themes of the album centers on [...]
It's been a fairly barren summer for The Indie Credential as far as gigs (and posts) are concerned. This was our first gig since early July, not counting the disappointing D:Percussion and Leeds Festivals, and neither of us were particularly keen to re-enter the fray. Fortunately, it was a pretty excellent night. We missed openers Gintis , which was a shame as Chris from Hey! Manchester was quite enthusiastic about them after the gig. If we'd shown the same sort of enthusiasm in getting ourselves off our arses and out of the house then maybe we'd have [...]

We continue the celebration of FRICTION 's TWO-YEAR ANNIVERSARY with a second show on September 30th at the newly opened Music Hall of Williamsburg with FRICTION alums THE BIG SLEEP and OTHER PASSENGERS opening for Glasgow's THE TWILIGHT SAD . DAVID BRUNO , who has DJ'd our shows in the past, will be handling the decks in between sets. If you haven't been to the Music Hall yet, this [...]
Ah, talk about a sweaty, drunken night of indie joy. Fucking marvellous. This absolutely brilliant lineup was put together by Jim Gellatly of XFM Scotland, and was every bit as good as I wish the T Break gig had been, despite the thick, men's changing room aroma of a sweltering Bannerman's. It [...]
It's been an utterly dismal year for highly anticipated records by the big groups in 2007, but fortunately the slack has been taken up by loads of smaller acts bringing new things to the table. Except for one thing. A really big, angry pair of rock 'n' roll bollocks. I got accused, when talking about gratingly [...]

I hope everyone is as excited as we are for the Siren Festival today. Starting with DJ sets as early as 12 Noon, the Coney Island shindig kicks off with what are sure to be eye-opening performances by Brooklyn boys White Rabbits and "Scotland's Arcade Fire" The Twilight Sad (who sure did kick ass on their Radiohead cover ). Fleshing out the middle are Voxtrot, We Are Scientists, Matt and Kim, Dr. Dog, Black Lips, and more, with round-out performances by MIA, Cursive, and New York [...]

Wow, it's only Tuesday. Yet, tonight's regional concert slate is loaded. No matter where you are, there is something worth seeing. At Sonar in Baltimore, you have a fantastic show. Scotland's The Twilight Sad has been taking America by storm and they will be in town tonight. Philly's Relay will be joining them. RJD2 "Work it Out" dir. by Joey Garfield A man who appears disabled faces a steep set of steps. Immediately a stranger offers to help, assuming the man will have difficulty completing the task on his own. Yet our sharply dressed hero rejects the stranger's help, and seems stubborn in doing so - after all, we also expect him to have some difficulty in descending the stairs. But in a single continuous take, Bill Shannon (born with a hip condition that requires crutches) expresses uninhibited individuality and freedom - [...]
Compiling my list of favorite songs for the mid-point of 2007 proved to be a difficult task compared to last year. This time around I wanted to narrow my list to just 10, compared to the overload of songs that I chose in 2006. I asked Pablo and Eric to do the same, and though i've had their lists for a few weeks now, it's taken myself a considerable amount of time to come up with my own. The idea in your head always seems so simple until you actually sit down to compile such a measly list from what [...]
I can't believe it's July already. Time passes by so fast. Well, it' s been a good year in music, so far. Plenty of notable albums to mention, and here would be the list for this mid-year: 1. LONEY, DEAR - loney, noir (despite being recorded & self-released as CD-Rs mostly via orders through his website in 2005, it only got officially & internationally released in 2007, after getting signed up by SUB POP records in 2006. for that i am very thankful. [...]

Wow, this is pretty impressive. The all-mighty Stereogum have pulled off a task not too many could have accomplished. First, they managed to convince a number of very awesome artists, including Cold War Kids and Johnathan Vanderslice, to cover Radiohead songs for a 10th anniversary tribute to OK Computer . And, to top it all off, they actually came up with a final product worthy of being a tribute to the original Radiohead classic. Not too shabby, Stereogum. I've included links to all the individual mp3's. If you would prefer them all .zipped up, [...]

William Faulkner would've loved these guys. The Twilight Sad perform with a sound and fury that would make lesser bands cower in fear. The Glasgow-based group's bracing waves of distorted guitars and keyboards recall the records of a band much closer to home -- the Walkmen. Unfortunately, the group differs from Hamilton Leithauser and Co. in that Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters seems, songwriting-wise, like a rough draft: the performances are there, sure, and so is the style, but there's not a lot backing it up. The songs are composed of repetitive, redundant verses and the [...]
(No Ratings Yet) Loading ...

On their latest album Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters Glaswegian quartet The Twilight Sad (maybe unsurprisingly) fuse the sounds of Scottish folk music with the swirling layered guitars of bands like My Bloody Valentine. It is a gloriously melancholy album that envelops you like a dense fog with waves of fuzzy droning guitars and the soft vocals, vivid lyrics, and thick Scottish accent of singer James Graham. The album doesn't force itself upon you but (rather) it more or less washes over you like crashing waves hitting a rocky shore; slowly building to [...]
Coltrane Motion - "Twenty Seven" This band has two songs that are getting some buzz on elbows. This one has a bass line that reminds me of folk implosions "Natural One" only with fuzzy guitars and a lot more noise. There is a little bit of shoegaze in this, kind of like a more lethargic jesus and mary chain. Bonde De Role - "James Bonde" This is a fun song to listen to that has a a spicy beat. I don't know Spanish so I don't know what [...]
To make up for my no doubt agonising absence from your dreary lives, I thought I'd shock the shit out of you by posting twice in one night. The Twilight Sad are enjoying somewhat of a blogsplurge at the moment. It's not wonder really, with so many blogs vying to be the quickest to highlight anything new and vaguely good, any band showing potential and not receiving acclaim can very quickly gain a lot of critical inertia. The only risk I suppose is that blogland and blogreaders can be a little fickle, maybe even more fickle than the pre-blog indie [...]
