For the past couple of years, there have been a lot of great debut albums by indie bands. Now that may be hard to believe for some, but it's surprisingly true. Whether it's a New York new wave band or another alternative indie rock band, the quality is out there, but the key is finding those bands. Back in 2008 I kept hearing about this New York post-punk, new wave, and indie rock band that has a playful, party sound called The Virgins . Sadly, it wasn't until 2009 when I took advantage of actually checking out their eponymous [...]

Check out the Morning Benders new song 'Virgins' from a live session they did with la Blogotheque's Soiree de Poche. It's a gentle, and ambling melancholic song that really shows off the sound of the Morning Benders This is a teaser for the whole movie, that will be online beginning of October on Blogotheque and ArteLiveWeb. http://www.blogotheque.net http://www.soireesdepoche.com http://www.arteliveweb.com If you haven't already heard the Morning Benders' newest album Big Echo, you need to go out and Buy [...]
San Fransisco's The Morning Benders debuted a brand new song entitled 'Virgins' for a 'Soirée de Poche' session for La Blogotheque in Paris. The tune is full of wonderful harmonies and acoustic strumming. I'm liking it so much that I'd bet that it'll be featured on an upcoming release. The entire session will be up soon on ArteLiveWeb , but for now check out Chris Chu and the rest of the benders preforming 'Virgins'. The Morning Benders - Virgins ♫

The Morning Benders did a session for La Blogotheque recently and debuted a new song called 'Virgins'. It has a very similar vibe to Big Echo and could easily have appeared on their latest album. Not much really to say about it to be honest. It doesn't have the massively awesome feel to it that 'Excuses' has, but you can't expect anyone to come up with something that inspired every time. Plus it is just an early version. Who knows if they will studio record this. The Morning Benders - [...]

The Morning Benders recently performed a brand new track called "Virgins" for a session for La Blogotheque . This clip is also a teaser for a whole movie, that will be online beginning of October on Blogotheque and ArteLiveWeb. (found at p4k )
Those boys out in Paris with the tricksy camera angles, beautiful sound engineering, and seemingly endless access to excellent acts are getting ready to release their apartment concert for The Morning Benders. Sometimes bands just leave me speechless when I'm at shows, and I know that if I had been at this one (Max was), I probably would've cried. Not saying, just saying. This yet-to-be-released track is one performed especially for their little apartment shindig in Paris. The Morning Benders bring a creative sense of tempo to their songs, and there's nothing like Christopher's arching vocal [...]

It's been a while since we've done a "remixery", so we'd thought it be nice to do one for the sake of nostalgia. Here are ten remixes from a talented group of producers who are most certainly on the way up. All of these remixes are essential for your iTunes (Windows Media Player too, if you are backwards like that) and if you enjoy them, remember to say hello to the people who made them via their social networking links we've provided below the download (it really does make a difference!). Have a great friday! [...]

Living on a farm road Takin' all your time slow Cheerin' from the bleachers Don't you wish your life was gold? I bet you do The Virgins - Hey Hey Girl Sometimes when you live in the country you have to dance and yell to grab the placidity and lethargy by their throats-tell them, "I love how you let me act like a freak without becoming a spectacle." Then, the fact that you could just walk into a dry, yellowed cornfield off the farm road, [...]

So, this is something new and interesting. The night before my interview with Sky Ferreira , I received a vaguely mysterious e-mail from MuuMuse reader Sam Lansky with an attachment entitled "Fame Fatale." The e-mail suggested that the attached may assist me in preparing for my interview. As soon as I began reading, I already knew: This had to be published immediately. "Fame Fatale" is not only a remarkably in-depth analysis (and personal account) of Ferreira's curious rise to fame, but a thoughtful contemplation of the manufacturing of the modern pop star and [...]
"I needed to cut my ties with caring about what other people wanted from me and find out what I wanted to make," declares KT Tunstall of Tiger Suit (Virgin), her dramatically different new album due September 28. While the brisk and busking folk/pop on her prior two studio albums have garnered the Scottish singer/songwriter an avid fan base, hit singles and a 4x platinum debut, Tunstall has embraced what she terms "nature techno" for her new songs, a "mixture of very rootsy stuff with electronica, but quite homemade so it stays really warm." In short, [...]

"I'm white, I'm from Hackney and I'm soon to be covered in even more tattoos. If Vanilla Ice wasn't Vanilla Ice, I would be," - Professor Green I'm on that Pro Green tip, and I'm not talking about smoking joints of OG Kush. Stephen Paul Manderson , better known by his pseudonym Professor Green , was this skinny white kid that surprised the world with his quick-witted battle raps and stereotypically crooked English teeth. The 26 year old rapper was runner-up in the 2005 Power Summit [...]

Some parts of living in DC in the summer aren't so great...the never-ending heat wave we're currently experiencing for example. Throngs of tourists. More subway cars that don't have air conditioning than do...But one pretty cool part of living in DC in the summer, at least the past few years, has been the Virgin Mobile FreeFest taking place. The FreeFest will occur on Saturday, 9/25 this year and being held again at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. "Our goal is simply to book the coolest bands we can. This year we're breaking with [...]

When I found out the Young & Lost Club girls, namely Nadia Dahlawi and Sara Jade, were a little younger than myself it really put how much they have done and how influential they are in the London music scene into some perspective for me. And now, celebrating their 50th single and 5 years as a label, they are releasing a double-disc compilation of 35 of their favourites. Their story is one of musical fairytale of sneaking out of boarding school to catch gigs around London, before starting a beautifully budget fanzine called Pyrrha,' [...]

Bryan Ferry has announced plans to release a brand new solo album, via Virgin Records, on 25th October. It also features contributions from Pink Floyd's David Gilmour, Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead, Nile Rogers from Chic, ex Stone Roses bassist Mani, and Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The album features eight new songs, plus covers of Tim [...]
