Welcome VISITOR . Their first song "Los Feeling" reaches almost cringe worthy heights but is so uplifting and contagious that you'll forgive and forget any faults. So big it sounds like U2 making a dreamwave track minus all the Bono-obnoxiousness. And yeah, this is one of those tracks that is begging for remixes. Although the news of the band's demise was unfortunate and untimely for those who followed UK kids Cobra Dukes, there's seemingly a dazzlingly bright light at the end of the tunnel. Formerly Cobra Dukes, then formerly What She Wants, UK's Visitor are giving us the first glimpse of their brand new Diamond Cut -produced material with the cosmically-charged Los Feeling. Columbus band The Receiver made a video for a new song called "Visitor" off their upcoming sophomore album, Length of Arms , due out this spring (CD release show 5/8 at Skully's). Production-wise, it's probably the best music video from a Columbus band I've seen, and a good song to boot. Bandmate brothers Jesse and Casey Cooper have submitted it to an Ohio Film competition, so if you agree with my positive assessment, be sure to give it some YouTube ratings love. I'd say it very much deserves to be a finalist.

The UK's FrYars is Ben Garrett, a 19 year old Londoner and his ambitious songwriting has earned him comparisons to artists as varied as Nick Cave, Rufus Wainwright, David Bowie and Lloyd Cole. FrYars music begins life on a piano, before being sonically expanded on his computer, with layers of organic and electronic instrumentation.
