myspace We started looking for bands from Manitoba that didn't start with "Weaker" and end with "thans" and our good friend Ken Beattie (Winnipeg represent) suggested a terrific band from his hometown. The Western States write rootsy epics that resonate the depression and stagnant nature outsiders expect to consume Winnipeg when Winter starts, but surprisingly there is a warmth that shines through on their songs.
