Vale conferir todas as faixas no Bandcamp [...]

Hurricane Irene has made her way up the East Coast, and is hitting the fine city of New York. In my frustration and free time simply sitting around, I have made you a very special playlist of new music that you can stream/download so that even when your power goes out, you can continue your listening. Enjoy the music and get your Jenga , Monopoly , Life , Scrabble , Risk and/or Sorry! on. Enjoy the music and please stay safe. [...]

by teepoo Time for something not Canadian. The Whisperlights is a group from Phoenix, Arizona who together written 10 tracks for their album Surfaces which can be grabbed on their Bandcamp . The album is a collection of songs that is full of a summer palette of sounds. I know it's almost back-to-school time (well for you guys, I'm done forever mwahaha) but until then keep your summer tracks going. The Whisperlights should be a definite addition. Their vocals are bright and upbeat in nature [...]

Monday's Sixth Annual El Rio Big Time Freedom Fest was a really, really good time, and Low Red Land 's final performance ever was appropriately heartfelt and nostalgia-inducing. Perhaps a little more surprisingly, considering how long it's been since the trio last played together, they sounded as tight and powerful as ever, and we briefly considered rushing the stage to beg them to reconsider the many new endeavors that necessitate the band's dissolution. Instead, Low Red Land's set served as a fitting end to a day [...]

This July 4th, come spend your holiday with us on the El Rio patio for the Sixth Annual El Rio Big Time Freedom Fest (3pm, $8, 21+). Six great bands are on deck to help celebrate the things that make this country great: indie music and afternoon beers. Oh, and freedom. Definitely freedom. By this point, we hopefully don't need to sell you on the many merits of John Vanderslice and Tartufi , two of our favorite local acts/comrades, but [...]
The Whisperlights give the world music that is brimming with all varieties of sound. There are guitars both fuzzed and melodic (often at the same time); there are plucked and pretty strings that flit about and fight for attention; there is Rhodes piano and drums and atmospheric sounds, and so on. And then there's the [...]

Over the next several weeks, and probably into 2011, there will be an uptick in the number of In Dee Mail playlist posts; the latest one was just published last week. We're excited because IRC readers and visitors traditionally love the In Dee Mail series. But most of all we're amped to share with you even [...] Read more, get songs or stream the entire mix on Indie Rock Cafe
Happy Halloween, everyone! Today on the Rock and Roll Review, DJ Mikey G, Intern Bangin' Ben and myself discussed why Neil Young shouldn't have made a shoegaze album, took a look at the upcoming EP from Girls, and talked about ultra-talented Chinese children and John Paul Jones in the same breath. It doesn't make sense [...]

You probably know Josiah Wolf best from the band WHY? , who he holds down the drums for. But did you also know that beyond being an incredibly gifted drummer, he also can play nearly any instrument you can think of? Well, he has proven that with the release of his first solo album "Jet Lag", which just come out on March 2nd via Anticon . He played every instrument and recorded all the vocals for this project, with production duties being handled by his brother Yoni Wolf. The result is a beautiful and unique psych-pop [...]
