Thank goodness these guys don't. Slow Down Honey concentrate on producing music that makes people happy, music that is best seen live. They do this exceptionally well. Hailing from the sleepy beachside town of [...]

Whenever you see "Fred Falke remix" attached to a track, you can be sure that it's gonna be good. If I could write a love letter to Fred, it would look something like this . Falke has been called the French house remix king and it's a title that shouldn't be taken lightly and is definitely more than well-deserved. With a career spanning more than two decades, Falke has remixed for everyone from Annie to Erlend Øyé to Ke$ha and has teamed up with heavy-hitting producers like Alan Braxe and Kris Menace. Falke is one of my music idols so you can hardly [...]

Dayamn, Bibio. Way to turn this track completely on its head! The original version of "Waiting for My Chance to Come" by Noah and the Whale was a wonderful folk-rock ballad featuring the oh-so-familiar crooning vocals of front man Charlie Fink. But now, with [...]

Writing about Australian music on an American website is somewhat confusing. As my American counterparts are battening down the hatches for winter, us Aussies are gearing up for summer. This means there's a vast difference in the types of music we're [...]

If you like your pop quirky and Scandinavian then you will like this. The Norwegian band, Casiokids are giving away their new single, Det Haster ("it hastens or it's urgent") for free. Upcoming album is not set for launch yet till 2012 but the single is ready for release on October 24th and features a remix by Of Montreal . In case your iTunes doesn't already have its fair share, here's another God damn 1517 remix; correction edit, but this one's tops so it's worth the 16 MB. Ironically, Tanzlife , the editor in question, happened to do a remix of James Blake's Limit To Your Love earlier in the year, it's nice but we'll leave it in order to avoid becoming a songs we hate forum or just a really bad cliche. Thankfully though, Poland based Tanzlife has a plethora of great material of his own [...]

Meet Kakkmaddafakka, a high-energy band from Norway best known for their upbeat, danceable creations. Based out of Bergen, the band was formed by two brothers who recruited two school friends (all classically trained) to play one gig as Kakkmaddafakka at a youth center. Their performance [...]

As we drove down the 5 freeway headed to the Pacific Festival, the excitement level was rising like a hot kettle on the stove. With a loaded lineup headlined by Snoop Dogg & Cut Copy and artists such as Calvin Harris, Phantogram, Ghostland Observatory, Steve Aoki, Fred Falke, Bag Raiders, The C902s, !!! (Chk, Chk, [...]
This past Saturday, I attended the 2nd annual Pacific Festival at Oak Canyon Ranch in Orange County. Last year, the festival apparently happened at an outdoor mall, so the fact that the venue changed from that to a beautiful outdoor park was about as attractive as the stellar lineup. We walked into the festival right as Calvin Harris began on the main stage and, unsurprisingly, it took him mere seconds to get the whole crowd jumping. After Calvin was over, we walked across the park and pond to watch Toro y Moi for a bit then hit up [...]
Sundays Are Like This Apparently this is in Connecticut too which just makes it that much better. I had no idea there were any Beluga Whales/Mariachi bands in all of New England. Topaz just graduated high school, show some love for beats that sound like they have a grad degree. Classical related techno bombs are also always a plus. Lastly, a white boy raps over the Whitest Boy Alive. Mustard Pimp - Figaro Fist Pump Topaz Jones - Groovy [...]

Prob Cause - 1517 (Whitest boy Alive Remix) This might be our favorite track from Chicago emcee ProbCause yet. For this one, he rapped over Whitest Boy Alive . Get his last mixtape Stir Fry and expect a sequel soon. This track could definitely sneak into some summer mixes. If you're feeling it let us know in the comments. drink the kool aid:

Kommode From: Bergen, Norway Kommode (literally Chest of Drawers and not, as you may have thought, something old people shit in) sound exactly like you'd expect a band formed by Erlend Oye (The Whitest Boy Alive) and Eirik Glambek Bøe (Kings of Convenience) to sound like. As refreshing as a dip in fjord and as retro as a trip in across Europe in an open top Aston Martin DB5. Go [...]
![[ELECTRONIC POP] Digits – Pale Green Morning](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3383519_lg.jpg)
Long before anyone had dared utter the words 'James Blake' , Toronto resident Alt Altman had been creating delicate, minimalist synth-pop with R&B overtones for several years under the name Digits - something like what you'll hear in this song from his self-released, free EP Lost Dream . It is easy and accurate to compare his work to that of Erland Oye/The Whitest Boy Alive but there's something much more controlled about Digits which keeps me replaying the EP over and over again. [ BEGIN HYPERBOLE ] There [...]
