Female fronted California-based Sneak Peek are currently working on a seven song EP to be released this summer. Including former members of The Willowz, they fit in with recent girl garage bands like Colleen Green and Best Coast. Richie James Follin is a hard guy to follow. He rocketed out of Anaheim about seven years ago fronting the Willowz , who've made four pretty good albums and probably would be a booming concern had not the last two come out on Dim Mak Records. He made a slightly unwieldy but still worthy solo album in 2009. The music starts a little slow, so if you have little time to hear it, just forward it to 1:50. As for the rest, my only advice is to hear it loud, 'cause this synth is gonna blow your mind. In my opinion, is one of the best remixes from Mustard Pimp and some lucky bastards named The Willowz got the honours. Wicked! [Happy tax day. How many of you are spending your return on Coachella?] They've escaped Orange County for the friendly confines of NYC, but the Willowz are fondly remembered here. Their latest album "Everyone" came out in December (and maybe got lost in the pre-holiday shuffle), and it's a howling-good collection of punky psych-rock that should have made them stars by now. A little late on this post, but The Willowz latest album Everyone on Dim Mak, coupled with a handful of remixes from the likes of Steed Lord, Jamie Fanatic, Acidkids, and Sharkslayer, is a serious gem.
