Owls get top 10 placement! It is a beautiful work that deserved to be heard. So writes music blog O ANAGRAMA about " The Owls Are Not What They Seem " and lists is as one of their top 10 albums for 2010-2012 along with Björk and Norah Jones.

The amazing work of Australian artist and creative director Leif Podhajsky has been posted about here on the blog before, but I thought I would feature him again, this time as the subject of this week's Weekend Inspiration . Invisible Creature is a Seattle based design studio comprised by brothers Don and Ryan Clark . From music packaging and band posters, to logos and identity, these guys do it all and they do it well, to the point of even being nominated for 4 Grammy awards for their music packaging. Great work by Manuel Sepulveda , better known as Optigram , who is a London based graphic designer, art director, and record label owner ( Citinite ) responsible for many of Hyperdub 's record-sleeve designs. He's also apparently worked with Warp and Planet Mu . Really enjoy his use of color and geometric patterns. Last week I attended the Folk Alliance International Conference in Memphis, TN. I spent a few hectic days attending seminars, networking and playing showcases. It was a lot of fun and we met a bunch of great people there that I hope to reconnect with further down the road. It was interesting to be totally surrounded by folkies for a while. I've always counted myself into the genre but haven't quite been part of the scene if you know what I mean. Folk - being such a small genre in Sweden, I've always been a part of the [...]
