London Grammar are often hailed as the new xx. I can imagine why people compare London Grammar with The xx , but there are as many differences as similarities. Over the weekend The xx threw their first festival, Night + Day, in Lisbon. The first of three shows featured acts like John Talabot, James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, and of course a performance from The xx. Held on the water near an old castle the festival was completely curated by members of The xx, from the location down to the acts. The xx have announced two support acts for their gig at the O2 on 26th June. Warp-signed ambient duo Mount Kimbie and Sydney haze-poppers Jagwar Ma have been enlisted to perform ahead of the Coexist trio at their first Irish arena show. Producer/percussionist Jamie xx will also be making a mad dash along the quays and across the river to make his rearranged date at the Button Factory that evening. Doors for that are at 11pm.
