O roteirista [...]
Congratulations Jim Uhls and HBO, you've got my attention . Fight Club writer Jim Uhls has been tapped to write Trent Reznor 's HBO/BBC Worldwide Productions miniseries Year Zero . Based on the 2007 album by Reznor's Nine Inch Nails, the concept recording criticizes the U.S. government - specifically the Bush years - and presents a dystopian vision of the year 2022. Reznor has already adapted the album into an alternate reality game. Uhls, repped by CAA, penned the screenplay for Fight Club and Jumper. [...]
So we've got a little more information regarding the forthcoming HBO series Year Zero which is based on the Nine Inch Nails album of the same name. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Fight Club writer Jim Uhls will write the series that Trent Reznor is producing. It will be based around the concept of the album which is based in the year 2022 and is a future that's warped by a corrupt government. Reznor focused most of his concept on the U.S. government and specifically the administration of George [...]

Trent Reznor has taken to the NIN message boards once again. Last time, he brought the good news that he's focusing on new Nine Inch Nails tunes . This time he's bringing a bit of good news...and kinda sorta but not really bad news. Reznor posted at the NIN forums that he will not be taking part in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter in any way, shape or form. He was rumored to play a vampire that kills Lincoln's mother. And now a reading from the post of Reznor: [...]

Another huge swing and a miss for us when it comes to finding this record. If not for a helpful heads-up from Kelp record vet Chris Page , I doubt I'd have ever heard the debut LP from Ottawa's Year Zero and when you consider the fact their band name leads to a google competition with NIN, you can see how this blazing post-punk outfit flies under the radar. Technically, Year One is a collection of songs from the band's two EPs, but regardless when the were first put [...]

What's the name of the band?? Here is the last part of the Gaga Weekend 3 at Yogi's. Bands that played were: Big D**k Crusades Critical Convictions Year Zero [...]
Billie Ray Martin covered two classic Cabaret Voltaire songs for her forthcoming release and you can find some familiar names on the remixer's list: Celebrity Murder Party, Copycat, Divide and Create, Dunproofin', Flying White Dots, Phil RetroSpector, Year Zero. This minimix sums up the whole thing. The Crackdown Project available for pre-order over at Play ( Part One / Part Two ).

After a 13 year hiatus, X-Ray Spex reunited for a single show at the Roundhouse, London on Sept. 6, 2008 and this show was released last month by Year Zero on CD and DVD. Unlike some of the "we're only in it for the money" reunions, X-Ray Spex are in great form. The twenty-track set includes almost the entirety of Germ Free Adolescents ("Plastic Bag" is the only track not played) and Poly Styrene's voice has held up exceptionally well given that Germ Free Adolescents was released thirty years ago. [...]
Where were you on the night before the dawn of the New Millennium? Jon Kerr was getting a pit going in Jilly's Rockworld, Manchester. We've asked him to summarise the ten years since then in all things metal in a handy A to Z S layer No Slayer, no thrash. Right? Following their four classic '80s albums, Slayer's four '90s albums received a varied reception as the band branched out in style. During this last decade, Slayer have succeeded in cementing [...]

PARTY WEIRDO Saturday, Nov 14, 2009 COST: $10 • ALL AGES* *= THE VENUE BECOMES 21+ AFTER 10PM! When Billie Ray Martin told Stephen Mallinder she had just finished the job of selling out Cabaret Voltaire to disco, he burst out laughing. The legendary head of famed electronic band Cabaret Voltaire saw no reason to stop her. Instead, he agreed to deliver his first vocal performance in years on Billie's cover of the Cabs' song The Crackdown . Produced by top Berlin tech-house act Maertini Broes, this production brings Billie Ray Martin back to her cutting-edge house music roots. Second in line to be out-discoed was the song Just Fascination . This [...]

Last month, on the Atlanta, GA stop on the esteemed NIN/Jane's Addiction tour going on right now, Trent Reznor and the boys called on the indie poet laureate Saul Williams to help with vocal duties during "Survivalism", from the Nine Inch Nails disc Year Zero . Please enjoy life for the next five minutes and change. You can tell that NIN and Mr Williams did. The tour stopped at NY's Jones Beach last night and they'll be hitting Columbia, MD's Merriweather Post Pavillion tomorrow. (mp3) Nine Inch [...]
![No. 77: Nine Inch Nails' Flood of Digitally Distributed New Music [80 '08 (And Heartbreak)]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/1395443_lg.jpg)
In the decade after 1994's The Downward Spiral made Nine Inch Nails a household name, Trent Reznor cultivated a reputation as a reclusive perfectionist of nearly Chinese Democracy -level procrastination, releasing just one bloated double album, 1999's The Fragile . And though 2005's With Teeth hinted at a leaner and more workmanlike model of NIN, nobody could've predicted the accelerated pace at which Reznor would begin releasing music after completing his Interscope contract. In March, the instrumental double album Ghosts I-IV was dropped [...]

I just got my grubby mitts on the Soft Hands ' new album, Hours Pass By , that comes out next Tuesday, October 21st on the Long Beach label, Fidotrust Records . My previous experience with the band has been limited to a few mp3s I was able cull from the interwebs and a frighteningly good performance at The Prospector which I documented for the OC Weekly's Heard Mentality blog. It was in that review that I described their sound as a "hyperactive Talking Heads-meets-Wire" and correctly surmised the only three songs that I had [...]

Photography by Tsuru Mixtape Project No. 1, a song for each letter of the alphabet. The reason for the season? You ever play your ipod in alphabetical order by song and notice that the mix ain't too shabby? Well, we created a mixtape with you in mind. Is the idea the most original? I don't know, but the results are fucking amazing! Each member posted a single song, in order, and 26 songs later, BLAM-O! Awesome mixtape! New, old, vinyl, digital, all covered. [...]
