After hearing some many remixes of Gotye's "Somebody that I used to Know", I was actually thinking someone needs to remix The Naked And Famous 's "Young Blood" since these two bands and songs are very similar to each other. So what do ya know, I stumbled upon the Tiesto & Hardwell Remix the other day. And Tiesto just actually did a remix of Gotye's "Somebody that I used to Know" and currently it's sitting at #1 on beatport. This time he teams up with Hardwell for highly respected indie rock band 'The [...]

If I had to pick one kind of music to listen to for the rest of my life, it would be, without a doubt, post-punk/post-rock. The Naked and Famous are almost the embodiment of this type of music. It has all the wonderful teen angst of the punk world, without the studs on black cloth pants and skinny kids vomiting on the sidewalk, fused with almost shoegaze-esque haze and shimmer. In keeping with his new trend of putting out a track every couple weeks, Tiesto teamed up with his young friend, Hardwell, for a techno/trance version of The [...]

I first heard "Young Blood" by The Naked And Famous on the amazing snowboard video "The Art of Flight" from team Redbull. The beautiful airy vocals and epic melodies perfectly complimented the slow motion snowboard action and ever since it has been one of my favorite tunes. Imagine my excitement when I found this remix by the one and only Tiesto and his partner in trance Hardwell . These expert producers elevated "Young Blood" to new heights with their progressive rhythms and big room synths. Definitely an anthem for the ages. Bonus remix by [...]

Tiesto is set to release Club Life Volume Two Miami on April 24th. The second installment of his mix album series features original collaborations with Wolfgang Gartner & Swanky Tunes, as well as a top notch remix collaboration with Hardwell, a hometown buddy from Breda, Holland. You can scoop up the whole thing here . The Naked And The Famous - Young Blood (Tiesto & Hardwell Remix) [...]

Hold your freakin' house-horses, I got another track hea' from Tiesto's Club Life Volume Two Miami . Yea' buddy. I love Tiesto's collaborations and original productions because he's able to offer that style of music everyone craves (progressive house) but always gives it an added twist to keep it fresh and make it his own. This track is no exception, and even features fan favorites Swanky Tunes . Tiesto and Swanky Tunes feat. Ben McInerney - Make Some Noise (Original Mix) As two added bonuses, that [...]
Dropped on the OfficialTiësto Youtube channel a few hours ago is the newest preview from the upcoming "Club Life - Volume Two Miami". Check out the press release below to see what's going on! "After the overwhelming success of their collaboration 'Zero 762, Tiësto and Hardwell join forces once again, this time to remix the [...]
Got a nice little preview here of what should be a completely outrageous remix. The first time Tiesto and Hardwell worked together they dropped "Zero 763 on us, so there's definitely high expectations for their second effort. The full version is due for release on April 24 on Tiesto's Club Life, Vol. Two - Miami which you can pre-order here. It's incredible that one of the biggest names in the game and one of the most promising up-and-comers are remixing an indie jam that dropped two years ago; it's really a testament to how amazing "Young Blood" is. Tiesto and Hardwell have collaborated again, this time for their remix of "Young Blood." The song will be featured on the upcoming and eagerly awaited, Club Life - Volume Two Miami . Unfortunately, the track simply doesn't have the energy that " Zero 76 " did - the last production they created together. The synths in the drop are typical fare for a lot of recent releases but we are big fans of the vocals. Perhaps the song will be more impressive in it's full version. What do you think? Via: [...]
I would beseech you, in interest of your own capacity for living life, to give this album a chance...

The Naked and Famous are a five-piece indie band hailing from Auckland, New Zealand. They formed in 2008 when Thom Powers and Alisa Xayalith recorded two EPs with engineer Aaron Short, a fellow student at Auckland's MAINZ music college. In 2009, they recorded the single "All of This" and Aaron Short became a performing member of the band, later joined by Jesse Wood (drums) and David Beadle (bass) as full-time members. To this day, their 2010 single "Young Blood" remains, by far, their most widely known tune. Upon its release, the single shot straight to number one [...]
While the current leg of The Naked and Famous' NA tour is the last for now, Tuesday night proved they will definitely be back.

The Naked and Famous performed "Young Blood" and "Punching In A Dream" on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Watch both videos below: ...

I have conversations with friends about bands that have been around for decades, who continue to tour playing the songs from days gone by. Many people believe that these older acts should hang it up and retire. They think that the songs no longer are valid and they feel that these older groups should make way for the younger bands coming around in the 21st century. I say you didn't see Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Pinetop Perkins, or Hubert Sumlin retire, did you? Read more »
This album rocks out with all the heart and soul this music was meant to deliver - great rhythm & blues.

"In the coolness of your shadow, in the silence of your deep..." Jesse Colin Young and his underrated Youngbloods provide the original, and it's a fine track alright. But then check out master guitarist Phil Upchurch with his soulful instrumental interpretation of the same song. Wonderful, huh? Thought so. I have an affinity for cooking. I also have an affinity for music. Appropriately enough, I have an affinity for cooking and listening to music at the same time. Crazy, right? (One of the reasons we love Turntable Kitchen here at Indie Shuffle!) For today's Friday 5, I am compiling a list of songs (from preferred albums) that I enjoy listening to while cooking, though it was so difficult limiting this list to just five songs. The list is random, which nicely compliments the the random cuisines I tend to enjoy. [...]
