Twenty-five years of independent music will be celebrated on Saturday, July 13th with Sub Pop's Silver Jubilee in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle, WA. Apropos of nothing, Seattle's finest psychedelic hip-hop duo THEESatisfaction  have released a free EP tribute to one of their favorites, neo-soul first lady Erykah Badu . It's a short but so-sweet tape, just seven tracks featuring remixed samples and interpolations from Badu's work, blended into something that sounds more like THEESatisfaction's norm - intergalactic transmissions from a distant psych-funk galaxy. Seattle hip-hop duo THEESatisfaction are paying homage to the one and only "Queen of Neo-Soul" with a free mixtape aptly-titled,  THEESatisfaction Loves Erykah Badu . Everyone loves Erykah Badu , so she probably does deserve a tribute every now and then. To fill that void, Seattle's THEESatisfaction threw together a laid back free project to pay homage to one of their greatest inspirations. And if you can recall, this duo put together a tribute for Anita Baker together not long ago. The seven-song love affair is spacey and futuristic, revolving around samples of Badu's work mixed with original vocals and instrumentation. This marriage of artists seems to make perfect sense, and we are more than happy these ladies went forth [...]
