I was at the Block Lofts' pool Saturday. You know, drinking beer, people-watching, checking out hotties from behind the eBay'd aviators and so on. At some point, I told Kate (the other half of Like No One's Watching and this fine example of the human race) that TV on the Radio 's Return to Cookie Mountain was undoubtedly the best album released so far this year. It's probably also the worst titled. Anyway, she called me an elitist. I did this because I knew it would piss her [...]

Think About Life is playing in NYC this week-end. Last night they played @ the Knitting Factory. I'm so bummed that I wasn't able to make it. These guys are on my *must see now* list. I am just dying to see them live. Since that first day I listened to their music , Paul Cries [mp3] -the song Jerry Yeti called "the internets favorite song" - I have been enamored with them. They last played in nyc May 17th, [YouTube] and Brooklyn Vegan was there taking pics. [...]

Think About Life is coming back to New York this Friday 7/14 to Don Hill's for Night Time . I know their myspace says that they are playing The Ford Plant in Brantford, ON but Night Time's myspace says they are going to be at Don Hill's. According to Google Maps, the drive from Brantford to New York is about nine hours so they can't possibly do both. I am going to assume that Night Time is correct. Anyway, the last time they were here was Art Brut's Knitting Factory Takeover [...]

Going thru the multiple emails bands and PR people have sent me over the last month, I have found some things I like to listen to. I'm posting the tracks and info below. First off is the Hypertonics. It sounds like rockabilly to me. They are giving away their whole catalogue of music at their site. I replied to the email they sent, when they send me a few tracks, and asked them if they had any studio stuff. The live stuff didn't [...]

So I'm coming to work today (public transit!) and listening to my iPod (hip!) and suddenly realized I made a grave mistake last week when posting some of my favorite instrumental tracks (an excellent post , by the way, if i do say so myself).... How could I leave out The Fucking Champs ? Borderline blasphemy, indeed. So here are two tracks from the extremely rocking, highly enjoyable band. ::: The Fucking Champs - Andres Segovia Interests Me ::: The Fucking Champs - Policenauts [...]
