It's almost that time of year again... that's right, Thanksgiving is just around the corner with the rest of the holiday season following hot on its heels. It's good to be back to regular posts just in time for the holidays. Food, family, friends, and drinks. So, last year I posted an awesome roast turkey recipe , and this year I wanted to post my mom's vegan pumpkin pie recipe, but I have no idea where it is. So here is one of my other favorite pie recipes (courtesy of my mother)... and some songs. Heck, [...]

say hello to the bastard child of cheap regrets and a daydream maybe this life just ain't cut out for me koalacaust may not ever change the world, but they've definitely changed me. so i believe a huge thanks is in order to everyone who has downloaded their self-titled tape off of fmly rcrds . this weekend has been incredibly emotionally investing, and two records that have gotten me through it are mirah's advisory committee and koalacaust. "skyscrapers" to "heath ledger" to "tunnels and gates" are the [...]

With Thanksgiving now less than two weeks away, I figured it was about time to repost my tried and true recipe for brined and roasted turkey. So what if I ganked the original recipe from the amazing Alton Brown a few years ago. I've made enough delicious changes that it really feels like mine though. I'm still thinking about the possibility of cooking something else a little less traditional for Thanksgiving... something like a Bacon Explosion perhaps. (Yum!) And my mother's vegan pumpkin pie to balance it all out. Oh yeah! Here's the recipe: [...]
Two years after the first airport shutdown because of a bicycle with a This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb sticker on it, it's happened again : "I was at work and just kind of freaked out," TBIAPB lead singer/guitarist Ryan Modee told the Pensacola News Journal on Thursday of his reaction to hearing about the incident. "I was like, 'Oh, God, not again. How could this be happening?'" Modee is urging fans to remove stickers from items at airports and other high security areas to avoid such problems, and says the band will replace them [...]
![This Post Is Not A Pipe Bomb [Names In The News]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/1533456_lg.jpg)
There was an incident at the Memphis airport yesterday wherein the owner of a bicycle displaying a sticker from Florida punks This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb was arrested, presumably on suspicion of having a bicycle that also doubled as a pipe bomb. A terminal had to be cleared, causing traffic problems and PO'ed travelers, though no flights were delayed and no formal charges have been filed. Dude wasn't even there to fly—just to see somebody off. On a bike. At the airport? Anyway, this isn't [...]

Hey everyone, I'm posting this post as a personal plea for help. Recently a good friend of mine and someone who played a huge role and influence in my life was a victim of a suspected hate crime. She has suffered sever injuries and does not have the money to pay for the medical bills. When I was in high school, I joined a band called OPERATION: CLIFF CLAVIN. CHRIS, the singer and song writer in the band, and his friend SAM also founded and ran our record label, PLAN-IT-X RECORDS. PLAN-IT-X has gone onto to [...]
So I was looking for some music festivals that are coming up in the new year, and I stumbled upon the line-up for the 2009 South By Southwest Music Festival....these are just some of the artists there... Ben Kweller , The Crystal Method , Dead Prez , Explosions in the Sky , Killer Mike , Mika Miko , Peter Bjorn & John , Primal Scream , Ra Ra Riot , The Knux , [...]
Yes, this is a recipe for brined and roasted turkey with a musical accompaniment, but I'd rather call it Can You Eat the Turkey From the Southside? Seriously folks, Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away. So I've had deep-fried turkey (good), smoked turkey (even better), but my favorite way to cook a turkey for Thanksgiving (or even Christmas) is brined and roasted. Yes, I'll admit that I ganked the original recipe from the amazing Alton Brown a few years ago, but I've made some minor (and delicious) changes. Here's the recipe: [...]
First and foremost, thanks to everyone who sent in donations at my earlier request. They are, of course, very appreciated. Strangely, despite getting an e-mail from my web host the other day telling me I had to renew everything, after logging into my account, I see that I actually have until April to renew. Odd, that. Regardless, in April I'm sure I would have come begging, but now I shouldn't have to, as I've come relatively close to my goal. The second thanks of the night (or, more accurately, morning) goes to my always [...]
