One year later, he started working with Thomas Bangalter on a track called "Together". And the rest is history..." He is a brother of Delphine Quême (Quartet) & Cousin of Alain Quême [...]

Well, seems I assumed wrongly as one of our readers mentioned that they don't know who they are . This is a most heinous musical crime that simply must be dealt with! Let's start with Thomas Bangalter. A brief synopsis, because brief is good. Thomas Bangalter is the son of disco producer Daniel Vangarde. When he was a teenager, he formed a garage band with a few other guys called Darlin'. THey sucked, they broke up, [...]

Some will be more known than others, we have a whole bunch of really kick-ass things for you all to hear, starting today with some new material from whizz-kid Lapin. Lapin sent us an email informing us that he was pleased about our recent articles about him, and informed us of his new Fashion/internet music label called Skank. [...]

Photo Credit: The Cobra Snake Since it's such a pretty day out, I'm in the mood for something "chill". Brooklyn's Asobi Seksu's new album HUSH comes out tomorrow (Feb. 11) in Japan (Reservoir Records/EMI) Feb 16 in Uk/Europe (One Little Indian) Feb 17 in the US (Polyvinyl). It's definitely worth a listen and if you really love them and are in town, then catch them March 26th in Chapel Hill @ Local 506. You won't want to miss it. Also, make sure to listen to Tele Music, such a good track. Actually, [...]

Unicrons , the San Fran-based independent music label, threw a party alongside our pals in Famous Friends this past Friday night at Glasslands Gallery in Brooklyn, bringing from their stable the alternative-90s-emo Robbers [insert as many references to Jawbreaker, Sunny Day Real Estate and Texas Is The Reason here] and Futuristic Prince on the tables. For their part, FF threw in their resident DJs VDRK and Bradley D and the Finger On The Pulse dudes and Joelomite too. Line-up overload like whoa. We had a blast, [...]

Remixes can be great, remaking a song and adding new elements and feelings to it. Remixes can be kind of pointless, turned into instrumental pieces that sound pretty much nothing like the original. Remixes can also be absolutely awful, churned out with a bunch of shitty, distorted bass and maybe some handclaps. Everything is getting remixed these days, though, and tons of people are trying their hand at it, flooding the web. All that said, a few remixes have blown me away this year and been at the top of my playlists (they may or may not have actually been [...]
It's been a couple months since I put new original music up for download so I'm happy to deliver the following songs: I Did it (My Minimal Track) I usually don't get too into minimal, but my good friend Shaunie Sharper does. He challenged me to make a minimal track and here it is. It's got the click-clack flavor of minimal, a floor tom kick, with a rhythm vocal stating "I did it on a dare". That "dare" is Shaun's challenge. Enjoy. The Way [...]

A quick introduction, I am OCD Automatic, a good friend of VDRK and fellow lover of the dance floor. You can check my short bio to the right for more. While the New York crowd was doin' their thing at Europa on new year's eve, I was scoping out the Justice show in Chicago. As you can imagine, the crowd of 4000 went collectively bonkers whenever the duo would drop one of their own tracks. But this being a DJ set after all, a few real [...]
