I found out about Those Dancing Days by chance. I was just listening to some random tracks of Hype Machine, specifically what Rock Sell Out had to offer and it included a review of Those Dancing Day's EP and an awesome track, Hitten. Those Dancing Days are a girl group/semi-indie rock band out of Stockholm, Sweden that has no relationship with Peter, Bjorn and John (other artists like the Shout Out Louds and Lykke Li all have their connections) at least that I know of (after seeing that they are [...]

I'm not one to post obscure Swedish music (check Zeon's Music Blog for that), but one surefire way to get me to do so is to cover my favorite Britney Spears song. Those Dancing Days did just that. This cover couldn't have made its way to my hands at a better time, either - their debut album In Our Space Hero Suits is out in Europe now. What better way to grab some free buzz than covering Britney Spears ? [...]

I would have posted today's song earlier if not for the computer drama. Sadly, there's something about it that sounds a little different from the version on the radio, but none of the remixes I've listened to since then have matched up either, leaving the radio edit as the closest I can get. (The video really is pretty lovely--it's got a pretty cinematographic look to it, especially coming from a Swedish artist [I love Sweden, but a lot of its artists tend to make cheap-looking videos. Watch this one using YouTube's high [...]

Check out a really funky cover of Britney Spear's Toxic from Swedish sweethearts Those Dancing Days (whom you can read more about here ). It's a pretty fun, live cover! (Credit to Zeon's Blog.) The debut album from Those Dancing Days, "In Our Space Hero Suits" drops October 6th. Toxic (Britney Spears cover)- Those Dancing Days
I really like the new Those Dancing Days single "Home sweet home" quite a bit, despite any misgivings and low expectations. It reminds me a lot of classic riot grrl punk in that it's brimming with infectious youthful vigor, enough so that I think a rougher, less produced recording would have brought it out even more. The drums really drive the band, so I'm glad they're one of the most dominating things in the mix. On the other hand, their youthfulness does have a downside in terms of naivety. As much as I appreciate TDD's spunkiness, [...]
Who: Those Dancing Days Location: Stockholm, SE elbo.ws Ranking: #39 Thoughts: I think we have reached the point where we are relying too heavily on the Swedish pop music. Like foreign oil, the sweet sounds of Swedish pop is killing our economy by forcing our bands into early retirement and sticking in our heads until we spend all of our rent money on their albums. It's getting ridiculous and the

Time for yet *another* Swedish band. Those Dancing Days are from Stockholm and their debut album comes out next month on Witchita Recordings. As a female I'm obligated to point out that their video, above, for the song Home Sweet Home is darling. With its vintage postcard theme, it is the In Bruges poster come to life. A video that would be close to Mark Mothersbaugh 's heart. The song itself is infectiously hook-filled as well. While I was looking for Those Dancing Days' music, I came across an remix of [...]

Those Dancing Days are one of the many wonderful products of the Swedish music scene. The five piece female group, hailing from Stolkholm, are set to release their debut album, "In Our Space Hero Suits", on October 6th and single Home Sweet Home at the end of September. The 10-track debut is a pretty fantastic affair: the music they create is light, twee, ethereal pop, perfect for bibbity-bopping... their MySpace calls them music "sweet as apple-pie pop". While the girls don't quite have the pipes to rival the handful of new-to-the-scene UK soulful songstresses, the album, with it's [...]

NORWAY: Singer/songwriter Ane Brun recently recorded her own acoustic version of Alphaville's 'Big In Japan' for a Swedish documentary called 'Stor I Japan'. It's currently sitting atop the iTunes Sweden chart. The simplicity of her cover reminds me of her sublime collaboration with Koop for 'Koop Island Blues'. Ane Brun - Big in Japan (Alphaville Cover) AUSTRALIA: Angie Hart has a remarkable musical output that's enough for a whole week (or more) worth of coverage. Either when she was [...]

Hailing from a Stockhold suburb, Swedish girl group Those Dancing Days are coming at you with a crunchy, indie-flavored revamp of Britney Spears' smash "Toxic." I alerted you earlier about the girl group back in 2007. Those Dancing Days are Linnea Jönsson, Lisa Pyk, Rebecka Rolfart, Mimmi Evrell and Cissi Efraimsson who first get together in 2005, and took their group name from Led Zeppelin's "Dancing Days." The ladies received some international exposure when they were nominated for an MTV Video Music Award in Europe in 2007. They [...]
One of the highlights of seeing Nickel Creek play CrawDaddy three or four years ago was their cover of Britney Spears' 'Toxic'. It's a great tune that reminds me of my dancing days in the Glenroyal nightclub in Maynooth during first year in college. Speaking of Those Dancing Days, Swedish band Those Dancing Days have covered the song, and have offered it up for download here: http://www.radarmaker.co.uk/ge t/thosedancingdays/toxic.mp3 Their debut album In Our Space Hero Suits is released in two weeks' time, on the 6th of October. Watch the excellent [...]

Swedish twee poppers Those Dancing Days have just released a cover of the uber-annoying Britney Spears track "Toxic". It's an interesting twist on one of the world's most despised songs. The band's debut album, In Our Space Hero Suits , comes out in the UK on October 6th. Get your free MP3 of "Toxic" here: DOWNLOAD Those Dancing Days' MySpace
