Thread Pulls are a two man band from Dublin, Ireland making minimalist Foals -y tracks. This is what my mother has to say about them, "That band sucks! Billed as 'a tour of legitimate sharing', rhizome[s] features three like minded musical acts, all of whom have been forming rhizomatic connections resulting in collaborations, remixes, one-off events and so on. The tour brings them together for a series of shows with collaboration at the heart of it. The night marks the second anniversary of Derrick's death, and the posthumous release of two records, an LP by his solo project Aeromodeller and a 7” single by his band Crumb. The sound that Thread Pulls have crafted on their debut album New Thoughts is motorik, minimalistic and mantric. Built on a foundation of repetitious drum hits and bass notes, this basis allows Gavin Duffy and Peter Maybury to employ the use of ambient drones, seemingly free-form vocals, unconventional instrumentation and extra percussion.
