Throwback Thursday, and I have got a real gem for you guys. If anyone recognises this song, you will know you are in for 4 minutes of spine tingling love. If not, listen to this. It is harrowingly beautiful.
Vancouver-based duo WMNSTUDIES are known for transforming sultry R/B tracks into dance floor anthems. Their latest creation, a rework of Usher's 'Nice and Slow', is no different. It takes you back to a time when Usher wasn't involved in reality television programs hosted by Carson Daly, and what a glorious time that was. Derriere Force One has made it's way across the pond and Turbonegro take over NYC tonight at Irving Plaza . The Jugend will be all denimed out and ready to rock to that Deathpunk noise they've been waiting for. Tony Sylvester will do his best to convert the Hank lovers. I hope the set isn't filled with too much Sexual Harassment material. I want to hear the classics.

If you heard Mikey & the Drags on your friend's stereo, you'd assume it was a killer record she had snagged from her mom's collection of 60s garage rock vinyl. But it turns out these guys - based out of Houston, TX - are making music in 2013. And that's a great thing because it means you can expect more great music from them in the future. They recently released a 73 which you can grab over at their bandcamp . And you need to take advantage of that, [...]

Kanye is returning to the SNL stage once again for the SNL 38th Season Finale on May 18th with host Ben Affleck . He's going to premiere new music is the rumor off his upcoming supposedly dark new album. Ye also had his demo tape Know The Game hit the internet recently just like the Kendrick incident of a couple weeks back. Enjoy Young Yeezy. DOWNLOAD THE [...]

Dale Howard – Throw Back (Dub) Every single piece of music Local Talk releases turns out to be gold. The Swedish imprint is definitely doing house the proper way and their latest release from Liverpool producer Dale Howard is continuing their rise. ‘Throw Back / In Out’ has some wicked old school vibes and we agree with the label’s description of the EP when they say “there is nothing light or fluffy about these tracks”. Listen to the dub version of ‘Throw Back’ below and start your weekend the right way.

Tool released Undertow on March 6th, 1993, which was 20 years ago yesterday. The band has stayed true to their original sound and visuals that grabbed the attention of music fans decades ago and who continue to support the always unusual Maynard James Keenan and company. Their shows still sell out instantly, even when not releasing new music and given Maynard's odd stage presence. Undertow had two singles, "Prison Sex" and "Sober", which were successful in the mainstream with play on MTV and rock radio. Take a [...]

In paying homage to MCR , here is my favorite of their tracks. Gerard Way and company announced today that My Chemical Romance has official called it a day. With a lack of interest in their most recent release of singles, I guess the time is right. I remember when they blew up from a couple videos on Fuse to the arena rockers they became with The Black Parade . They'll be missed. My question is what is next for James Dewees now? MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE - FAMOUS LAST WORDS
Is he talking about them herbs or them curves? This is def. my favorite song on this album. Pin It

Snowball in a nutshell! (Photo Credit: David Rodman ) Held last weekend in Winter Park, CO, the third installment of the Snowball Music Festival can only be described as a raging success – heavy emphasis on the “rage.” Like 2011 and 2012 before it, Snowball 2013 remained heavy on the EDM when putting together its lineup. This year boasted 51 artists in 3 days, featuring local, national, and international names - including some of the biggest names in the electronic music world: Pretty Lights , STS9 , Big Gigantic , Porter [...]
Junior Sanchez and Steve Angello have recently joined forces to launch Junior's Brobot imprint in coordinance with Steve's Size Records. The label may be brand new, but the relationship between the dance music masterminds dates back several years. Sanchez made his way to Size for releases in the past, most notably in 2010 with "Where You Are," a production that Steve himself took to the next level with an Angello-branded edit. Out of the books of Morillo's Subliminal style, the track features Harry Romero, Alexander Technique, and Shawnee Taylor on vocals, resulting in a bonafide dance floor killer that [...]

Producers have been really into the 90s throwbacks lately, and for good reason. I myself am a diehard 90s fanatic. I can't get enough of throwback Nickelodeon and slowjams, so I was really stoked to see WMNSTUDIES throw out a 90s bootleg. INOJ was sort of a one hit wonder, and her hit " Let Me Love You Down " is probably not that memorable to our readers. I remembered the track after queuing up the jam, but had no idea the name of the artist. What WMNSTUDIES has done, is created a memory that took me back to singing [...]

Washington DC native, Justin Nouhra (ie J. Edgard ), has been in close contact with us over the past several months. We've been listening back to plenty of his unreleased material and the time has finally arrived to give everyone a taste of what to expect. In anticipation of his first EP release coming out on Birmingham, UK's Rebel Hill Recordings , we have teamed up with Justin to deliver a complimentary free download. Hypothetically, if we ever launch a PB&J label in the not-too-distant future (hint hint), [...]
In 2009, David Guetta joined forces with The Black Eyed Peas - altering modern radio airwaves and exposing dance music as a crossover genre in the United States. 2009 was the year Kelly Rowland belted out "When Love Takes Over" and the year Guetta released One Love . A lot changed in 2009 (and even more with Nothin But The Beat in 2011) for both Guetta and dance music, but the French dance maestro still has, and will always have, three studio albums and countless productions to call his own that date back prior to any [...]

Keep it short and sweet. Happy Birthday Kurt. "We're so old."

Just been jamming to this track by Casual Sex all day today, and I'm trying to decide if it's too old school to be modern, or just a nod. Every time I listen to this, I think of Ian D and the Blockheads , but it has a little bit more of polish to it. The Glaswegian group will be releasing this single as a 73 and as a digital download via Moshi Moshi Music on April 1st. I don't know, this track just stuck out to [...]
Want to see what the Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso were up to in 2007, before the hype of Swedish House Mafia began? Stockholm’s notorious F12 Terrassen outdoor club is where many of the famous Swedes' careers took off. It's small and intimate setting that allows for an up close and personal feel as captured by this video – just a little different from the shows they’re playing now. The pair play Prydz ’ “RYMD,” a testament to the fourth, “lost member” of SHM - Prydz parted ways with the group around the same time. Wish SHM still [...]

Linus Loves was the man who worked with Mylo to start up Breastfed Records, a Scottish dance label that hasn't (sadly) seen much output since both of their debut albums ( Stage Invader and Destroy Rock and Roll ) around 2005. The highlight of Linus Loves album to me was always an instrumental remix of Stevie Nicks' "Stand Back". Turns out there's an even better version that came out in 2003 as a single and charted as high as #31 on the UK Singles charts (thanks wiki). The track is essentially a [...]
