The Postelles: ...And It Shook Me - When the New York four-piece The Postelles released their first album in 2011, they didn’t need to be original. Produced by Albert Hammond, Jr., and already set in line with a handful of semi-prolific New York indie rock bands, they could have easily settled into a point of complacency surrounded by the same rhythm-driven sounds and slightly shadowy lyrics that defined the scene around them. Indeed, for their premier album, they did just that, making a name for themselves based upon the names to which they were already being compared. [...]

"Why is everyone here so fucking happy?" Slow down a minute. That can't be right. It took me at least four listens to get round to the sentiment of Tidal Wave , latest cut from UK beatsmith FTSE , because all its weapons-grade sadness (and make no mistake, sadness it is, misery of the highest fucking calibre) is dressed up in the kind of groove and slinking glimmer that was only hinted at on the downcast bedroom sketches of his debut BEGIN [...]

UK artist FTSE grabs b3 staple Saint Saviour for the lovely R&B-informed slow-motion boy/girl disco pop of "Tidal Wave". FTSE ( Soundcloud ) Rating 8.5
Stream: Sub Focus - “Tidal Wave (Flosstradamus remix)”

The #HOODIEBOYZ are back at it again with their remix of Sub Focus' "Tidal Wave" track featuring Alpines. The Chicago duo is quickly rising to the top of the trap movement, something I'm very very excited about. Be sure to purchase this single on iTunes, click play below, and follow them on Twitter @Flosstradamus

Flosstradamus has finally hit a roll as of late, and have hit international acclaim after pioneering a new sound of edm, heavily influenced by (t)rap, and European hardstyle. Today they have released their official remix for the English D&B/Dubstep producer Sub Focus's "Tidal Wave". A calmer, but still club worthy banger awaits after the jump.

Alpines' Cocoon was one of last year's top breakout hits, all spectral vocals and ethereal trip-hop production. To further stake their claim on the music industry, they've teamed up with Sub Focus for the powerful Tidal Wave. Catherine Pockson's vocals are a major highlight, adding some ethereal wonder to an otherwise typical dub-step track (she also shows off her stunning model looks in the video). The production from Nick Douwma [...]

Ok folks, so here's the story. I realize that this week's Wompday is coming to you a few days late of the usual Wednesday posting, and I'm sorry for that, but it's not just for any reason. I've been seriously disappointed with the mediocre music I've come across in the past week. That is, until I stumbled [...]
Drum and bass mastermind, Sub Focus, is back with a preview of a brand new single and we could not be happier about it. Judging from the preview, "Tidal Wave" sounds as though it is going to be an absolute monster of a track. It features the incredible vocals of Alpines' member Catherine Pockson and is jam packed with addictive melodic synth sounds. If you enjoy this but want something a little heavier, make sure to check out the KillSonik remix . Unfortunately you'll have to wait a while before being able to hear the full version of the [...]

Who's ready for something new and refreshing? I know we are. UK producer Sub Focus , has just given us a taste of their sophomore album due in early 2013 and we like the way it tastes. Since we have such refined pallet, I'm sure you will too. Their single Tidal Wave has one epic synth bass line. This paired with the infectious vocals of Catherine Pockson (From Alpines ), makes for one powerful jam. The instrumentals sound dangerously similar to Labrinth Feat. Busta Rhymes - Earthquake [...]

Austin TX's husband and wife duo All In The Golden Afternoon, released their latest LP, Magic Lighthouse On The Infinite Sea, back in May. We just caught wind of them this afternoon. It is rad. You can check the whole album out at their Bandcamp page, and stream or download the track Tidal Wave from the album below. All In The Golden Afternoon; Tidal Wave

If y'all aren't daily readers of Aquarium Drunkard , then that means you probably missed the Mondo Boys' Tidal Wave Mixtape last summer. We listened to the mix while driving to the AT two weekends ago (hugging tree part of hike pictured above), and despite the awful (awesome) sound system of my 1999 Subaru, the tunes were just about perfect. Download it here . Comes with the S.E. Rogie tune below. [...]

The NY Times have featured some before and after shots which show the trail of destruction left by the Tsunami that hit Japan. They are satellite images mostly taken on the 4th of April 2010 and between the 12-14th of March 2011. Here are only a couple of the images used but be sure to check out all 13 here . Today I'm starting what I hope to be a regular series of posts where I touch on a few songs that have been dominating my daily playlists. The simple fact is that since our posts are so writing intensive, they just take a long time to compose. I know that thats what makes Binary different and special, but at the same time, it leaves you guys in the dark about a lot of the music that we're loving! I'm hoping that once a week or so I can write a quick post that reflects the gems that we're loving that [...]
Drop Bawms. That’s a lot of dead fish. Here are a couple tracks that pack almost as much of a punch. Neither of them are brand new, but they’re guaranteed to get the adrenaline pumping. Waka & Gunplay destroy a beat that seems like it was handcrafted for them and Mr. Banks goes off in one of the most popular hip hop tracks this season. Also, make sure you check back tomorrow because TT is fixin’ to be massiffffff. Follow us on Twitter: @neroyalty . [...]
