Since Indie Mom and I have a date this Friday with Aimee Mann ( 2nd Annual Christmas show at the El Rey Theater ), I'm reminded of Til Tuesday , the band with which she gained her first foothold in popular music due in large part to a popular MTV video in which the singer finally and literally stands up for herself in an abusive relationship. Ok, as the title says these are bands that were formed in the year 1983. All the tracks are most likely not from that year (although all tracks were released sometime in the 80's) however; the band started in that year. My favorites out of this batch are General Public, Wire Train and Beat Farmers (who I saw live in the 80's while living in Dallas).
