Today's Song of the Day is a tranquil number off Tilly and the Wall's 2006 album, Bottoms of Barrels . With its roots in Omaha and boasting ties to Bright Eyes, Tilly and the Wall is a dynamic indie-pop band prone to whimsicality and experimentation. Case in point: the band's percussion medium of choice combines hand percussion and the tapdancing of guitarist-vocalist Jamie Pressnall. You'll hear it in "Lost Girls" beginning in the first verse. Tilly and The Wall’s 4th immediately kicks into action with the cheer-laeding wig-out that is lead single Love Riot . Those infectious energy levels are clearly still intact – though you need more than a series of prosaic stampedes to keep interest levels pumping. Thankfully the Nebraskan veterans (these guys have been crashing it out for over a decade) seem able to dodge, dive and dance between the rhythmic, the heartfelt and the euphoric.
