![[Listen] – #MusicMonday – 20 Songs Of The Week – March 8th](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2428253_lg.jpg)
If you're unaware of what Music Monday is, it's a Twitter recommendation system where users of Twitter share their favourite music, artists, genres, etc in order to not only find new music themselves but help others find new music too. Using the hashtag (#) followed by "MusicMonday" you can easily find new music posted by the thousands of people making recommendations each week. Every #MusicMonday I upload a playlist of 20 songs that I've been listening to (new and old) over the [...]
Without a doubt this album was one of the most pleasant surprises of 2009. Two years since the release of their debut 'Bang Bang Boom Cake' Tiny Masters Of Today are back with a matured sound. Of course that line is crazy when you consider that Brooklyn based siblings Ivan and Ada are only 15 and [...]
(via @ gbelotti )

This weeks list is compiled of musical duos that are siblings. I realise it would have been easier to do a post about siblings in music in general but i like the ideas of duos better, the whole "it's just the two of us" kind of logic. When brothers/sisters get together and make the choice of recording music together, whether it's as a duo or as part of a band, there's no telling what noise might end up being produced. It goes either one of two ways, the absolutely dreadful (The Jonas Brothers) or unbelievably good (Boards of Canada). There are quite [...]

I savored every slow-passing second in the heat—music from the likes of the Submarines, Mika Miko and Tiny Masters of Today, the latter pack of striplings enough to restore any lost faith in the rock verities, as well as the giddy confabs with pals from the RECORD , accidental meetings with ex-girlfriends; even the hi-skool snubs from industry barnacles and no-talents felt good, for such too is life under the municipal big top in rock 'n' roll's Greatest Show on Earth.

Today's Mix/Cover/Live + MP3 Roundup includes Midnight Masses, Wooden Shjips, Nada Surf & Tiny Masters of Today. Remix MP3: Tiny Masters Of Today - Real Good (Sunroof Remix) Cover MP3: Nada Surf - There Is a Light That Never Goes Out (Smiths Cover) Live [...]

That annual collision of people, pavement and pop music known as Sunset Junction is upon us. The two-day street fair may very well be on its last legs — I frankly don't know what to make of all the political wrasslin' — so I vote that we just enjoy it while we can. At 20 bucks (unless you got the $15 tickets in advance), it's a good value. Bring sunscreen, mix in some water, be polite. After the jump, my very rock-ist take on the lineup (full lineup here ): Photo of the [...]

Tiny Masters of Today are hitting the road for a string of US dates, including The Sunset Junction Street Fair Festival in Los Angeles and Detroit's F*cking Awesome Festival where they play just before Thunderbirds Are Now. 8/14 F*cking Awesome Fest @ Detroit MI 8/15 Metro @ Chicago IL* 8/16 Skully's @ Columbus OH 8/23 [...]
When I first reviewed Tiny Masters of Today on the blog, I mentioned the fact that they weren't necessarily bringing us anything new. There's something familiar and obviously very basic about what they're at, but given their tween status I still managed to find it all rather charming. They say time will tell in these matters, so I wondered what I might think now that I've had a few months away from them. Was I being kind simply because of their age? Would the sugary-sweet 2 minute melodies leave me with cavities this far out? The answer, [...]
The video's by Matthew Wargala with artwork by Robert Spina and Matthew Wargala and is the third video from their new album, Skeletons, following on the footsteps of the album's title track and a hilarious take on "Pop Chart" by Evan Bernard (the director behind some of your fave Green Day and Beastie Boys vids). For one day each summer, the carnies, sun worshippers and other eccentric denizens of in-season Coney Island must share the fairways and boardwalk with thousands of people in their 20s who have made the trek out for a long, hot day of live music. The Village Voice's Siren Festival is not for the faint of heart or ear; while there are only two stages, 14 bands play throughout the day and it's a real challenge to navigate through hordes of people unwilling to budge, lest they sacrifice their hard-won spot in the blistering sunshine. That is, unless you [...]

I really hate doing this to such young artists. And as much as I try to avoid excuses when reviewing music, it's just way too difficult to throw out the age factor with Brooklyn's Tiny Masters of Today . Because it was SO unavoidable at Siren. For those who are unaware, Tiny Masters of Today are, in actuality, tiny. Ivan is a mere 15 and his sister Ada is 13. And that's your whole band right there - the two of them, making punk rock and taking the world David Bowie by storm. [...]

After having been asked to headline the Village Voice 's infamous Siren Festival at the historic Coney Island for several years, Built to Spill finally accepted the honor, following in the footsteps of some of indie rocks latest and greatest such as Ra Ra Riot , Broken Social Scene , Steven Malkmus and the Jicks , New York Dolls , M.I.A , Cursive , Popwreckoning favorites White Rabbits , TV on the Radio , and Death [...]

It's Thursday, so that means the bestest, hippest, most free music festival of the summer is about to kick off. For those of you at Under A Rock University where you major in not knowing things (zinger!!), the Siren Music Festival is a one-day, two-stage, free show at Coney Island, NY. Home of people eating a million hot dogs very quickly. It's happening this Saturday at 1 p.m. @ Coney Island. Now, Siren has a history of both showcasing great bands of today and bands that will be big in about a year. [...]
