by Andrew Sacher KIngston, PA punks Title Fight , whose 2012 emotionally charged post-hardcore record, Floral Green , was one of the best of its kind that year, just returned home from a European tour with Whirr and they've now got some upcoming US shows scheduled for the summer. A full tour announcement hasn't come yet, but they were recently announced for LA's FYF Fest . They've got East Coast [...]

If there is one shared passion of the collected Thrash Hits writers (other than smugly mouthing-off about bands on the internet), then it's football. So when the London leg of Title Fight's UK tour clashed with the Europa League Final this week, we were worried we wouldn't be able to find anyone able to review it...so we guess it's a good job that Alex Andrews is a Spurs man... 6 things we learned watching Title Fight in London... In a progressive and respectable move to meet high demand for all ages shows, UK's The Great Escape, which kicked off today, has incorporated AA events for the first year since its 2006 inception. While American festivals like SXSW usually come with satellite events and unsanctioned basement shows, that of course underaged attendees can access, for the most part the festival season targets 21+ crowds. Of course there are smaller operations that address minors like Bamboozle, and even New England Metal & Hardcore Fest, et al, it's presumed for the most part that younger fans are harder to [...]
2012 was a terrific year for Title Fight . Their second album, ' Floral Green ' was released to worldwide critical acclaim in September with Rock Sound hailing it one of their top 20 albums of the year . Produced and engineered by Will Yip ( Circa Survive, Blacklisted ), ' Floral Green ' demonstrates a marked maturation in Title Fight 's signature sound. While it calls to mind such hallmark labels as 4AD and SST with the textured, emotional playing, it is also clear that the [...]

Photos and words by Debi Del Grande Yay for reunions! And with the reunion of certain bands, comes a burst of new fans. This would include myself. Not only was Quicksand not on my radar in the 90s (I know), I missed them at FYF. So when my friends who are diehards were going to The Fonda show, I had to go. I knew it was a good sign when the band had The Smiths playing right before they went on. Hardcore rockers loving The Smiths. When Quicksand members came [...]

After a surprise set last year at the Revelation Records 25th Anniversary show and a blistering set at FYF Festival , Quicksand continued their well-received reunion with a skull-crushing set at the Fonda Theatre, sounding just as vital as they did in the '90s. It should be noted that Quicksand recently re-released their two albums Slip and Manic Compression on vinyl. Keeping things in the hardcore vein, Title Fight unleashed their chaotic fury as the openers. Check out the photos in the gallery above and the setlist below. Read More...
New York City's Texas is the Reason is one of the most influential and trendsetting bands to emerge from the 902s emo-punk movement. After almost two decades, only one album, multiple breakups and an immense cult fan base, Texas is the Reason will once again be hitting the road for a few tour dates in ... Continue reading
For The Key’s year-in-review, we asked our trusted sources – our writers and photographers, XPN’s on-air staff, fellow bloggers in the Philly scene and even a few musicians – to send us their Top Five Whatevers. Could be the traditional music route – albums, songs, concerts of the year – or it could be only ... Continue reading

As I've mentioned on many occasions, I keep a running playlist throughout the year. You've seen bits and pieces of it here but as 2012 comes to a close, here is the final product. Full of the singles that I listened to on repeat to the tracks I put on every mixtape this year and now with the added bonus of being influenced by the year end lists of my friends and contemporaries. It's all over the place genre-wise, but I think it is a pretty solid collection. Amanda Palmer - [...]

Title Fight recently wrapped up their North American fall tour, in support of "Floral Green", the band's 2012 sophomore album. At the Philadelphia, PA stop of the tour, our very own photographer Danielle Parsons was in attendance to get some great shots of the band and special guests Tigers Jaw. Tigers Jaw [...]
Our New Jersey neighbors can claim The Gaslight Anthem’s Handwritten and Titus Andronicus’ Local Business as their powerful rock releases this year. But on the other side of the Delaware, Pennsylvania has also produced a slew of riff-makers and risk-takers who are also nothing to snuff at. Kingston-born pop-punk/hardcore band Title Fight is the most ... Continue reading

Post-hardcore outfit and Warped Tour shepherds Quicksand have extended their schedule beyond Jimmy Fallon and FYF Fest by announcing a string of reunion dates for January (via Exclaim ). The East Coast gets them first and last, but they'll hit Canada, Cali, and Chi-town before it's all said and done. Title Fight will open select dates, so peep [...]
