NOTE: This list will be updated with songs and music and pictures galore until the end of December! Please keep checking back! Sorry I haven't been around. I've been trying to figure out what to do. In my opinion if I can't give you guys my all then... there is no point in even trying... Normally that would lead to me saying I'm packing it in... BUT that's not what I want to do. I want to pull my extraordinarily depressed head out of my arse and [...]

When it comes to science fiction the Americans have always been at the forefront. Just look at 70's TV shows like Battle Star Galactica or Space 1999, awash with spectacular costumes and special effects. Whereas C-list actors populated the British equivalents, sellotaping a plastic eye to their forehead whilst trying to stop the scenery wobbling. But scratch beneath the surface and it's often the case that what us Brits may have lacked in razzle-dazzle we more than made up for in ideas, characters and concepts. Will this sci-fi themed second album from Derbyshire's To My Boy have learnt [...]
Following 2007's aggressive and electronic Messages, the UK's To My Boy are set to return with a new album, The Habitable Zone. Loosely, the record is about a day when human life on earth is no longer possible and our subsequent search for a, no surprise here, more habitable zone. The pulsing electro-pop is what the 80s sounded like but the video is what the non-HD cameras of the decade could
Here is a preview of the upcoming To My Boy album! The Habitable Zone Sampler by To My Boy After taking a brief break the boys are back veering away from the previous new rave tag placed upon them... it's a very new sound full of rich spacey pop perfection that won't leave your head for quite some time... read more in the press below: To My Boy will release their sophomore album, The [...]
To My Boy "Hello Horizon" (2010) from Matt Freeth on Vimeo . When the UK band To My Boy released their debut album, lots of people (including me) had high hopes for them. After the album, they kind of disappeared for a long time, but now they're back. In my ears, they sound better than ever. More organic, less restless, - still very melodic. This is the video for their new single, "Hello Horizon", which is taken from their upcoming new album " The Habitable Zone" . [...]
THE TINS This latest find is the direct result of a little blog scanning, so credit where credit is due for one of our self-nominated parallel blogs, Pretty Much Amazing , with whom we share many ideals. They in turn located the band from We All Want Someone , another excellent kindred journal. You see, there's this kind of primeval hunter/gatherer service that's going on for you with us bloggers. We love music, we go out and get music, we bring back music, you devour it. Well, I guess in this case, we let [...]

As a matter of course, To My Boy are not by any means a 'new' band. This Scouse-based twosome (and their MacBook) set free a first 'lectro-pop endeavour all the way back in 2007 via XL spinoff Abeano. And a mighty fine shot it was, although not according to the kindly hype engine. But if the fresh 'Us + The Wind' is anything to go by, 2010 could well mutate 'em from boys to men. Best Track – 'Us + The Wind'

A couple of years ago. To My Boy released an underrated proto synth revival album, instead of the now almost obligatory Yazoo referencing, they sounded more like an electrocuted Devo playing OMD songs too fast. But there was always an undercurrent of melancholy in Jack's voice that hinted at a darker future. So after their debut album the band (Jack, Sam and laptop) returned to university to study nuclear physics. Not much was heard from them until Jack sent me over the new album. It's an astonishing leap forward, a concept album about when [...]
"Famous people" are bitches. No, I'm serious. You can't really be 'friends' with them because they aren't even themselves... they're usually representations of a concept, not a person. It's a horrible delusion to think that someone who has succeeded in the entertainment industry would give a flying **** what you're doing. THAT SAID... some people are successful, even famous, and are simply themselves. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you see it) the media doesn't really tend to fixate on these types; but they are prone to remember them when something new [...]

This Fulham lad been working his butt off for a few years and has finally broken through, congrats on the chart position Elliot! I just happened upon theses tuuuness today through good ol' ipod shuffle, I haven't heard them in yonks! Interesting example fact: he is actually sponsored by Portuguese-chicken-delights-ch ain Nandos ! Example - So Many Roads (To My Boy remix) [...]

To My Boy have been very good to Arcadia. They were one of the first bands (followed by the likes of Frankmusik, Black Ghosts, SMD, GTA, etc ) to give us exclusive "big name" tracks before anyone else had posted them and for that we're eternally grateful! They're presumably working on the follow up to their amazing "Messages" album... but they've got a little treat for you! A nice new mixtape with fantastic tracks... here's the tracklisting... Robyn vs The Cure - Close To Konichiwa Micachu [...]

Hooray. I think I've posted enough mashups by now to justify a little mix-tape comp of sorts. Not all of them are in it, just my favorites and those that I thought would work well together, in one glorious continuously mixed shot of an mp3. Also included is a "Back to School Minimix" for you to blare loud enough to drown out the awkward "Oh HEY! So.... how was your summer? Yeah, mine too. Ready for classes?". Not to mention a little intro mash thing made just for this mixtape. I know, I know, you can barely contain your excitement. [...]
I wish I was still road-tripping. I wish I could build a new digital DJing setup without spending all my money. I wish, I wish, I hope you like these. Dat Zone (Shawty Putt, Too Short, Lil Jon vs. To My Boy) I think that song ^ is hilarious, especially the third verse. "You better call Petey Pablo, didn't he say your name on Freek-a-Leek?" The next one is pretty old, but I have to post it sometime. Feel Bad (Dr. Dre, Eminem vs. Gorillaz) [...]

"Computer, Tell me why I am not content or in love with a simple feeling. I ask because I've lost my peace, and you are extraordinarily clever." With an opening like that, and the state I'm in life-wise, how can I not fall for this tune? To My Boy Come from the UK and they have this futuristic vibe to them. It's the best I've seen it done since the Cupcakes, but nobody appreciated them anyway. This song is markedly awesome to me. The rest of the album is this mid-80's drum beat and the ol' broken Ric Ocasek vocal [...]
After a night out with colleagues from work last night, I'm locking the doors for the weekend and getting down to some serious self-styled hermitology. The Twelves are everywhere at the moment popping up to rework M.I.A's "Boyz" whilst also spreading their Rio vibes over Erlend Oye's "Sudden Rush". Is it wrong that I like Erlend Oye's Smiths cover? Black Hollywood - Black Hollywood Erlend Oye - Sudden Rush (The Twelves Remix) To My Boy - Model [...]

To My Boy are a two piece synthpop combo (you can call that nu-rave if you like, but i'll punch you) whose debut album was co-produced by James Ford and Luke Smith of sadly shorted live electro-funk-devoites Clor. And indeed their music follows some of the same paths; catchy warm synth lines, some nicely programmed drum patterns, minor dashes of Devo and major hints of OMD. Some have indeed lumped them in with the aforementioned trash-genre of the week, but from the little i've heard of them they remind me far more of more lo-fi indie pop delights of yesteryear; [...]

Things may be a little quiet rounds these parts the next few days. I'm moving house. Or, to be more precise, I'm moving in with my girlfriend. Which is rather exciting. But also a little bit scary. Mostly exciting though. Anyway, I'm not entirely sure when internet connections will be sorted so bear with me. Normal service will be resumed. But to keep things ticking over, I thought I'd post a few songs from some bands that I think you should be aware of and keep on your radar. I'll start with Copter [...]
