Tobias Hellkvist is a Swedish singer/songwriter/guitarist who came to me by way of Efterklang , whose sweetly melancholy "Step Aside" Hellkvist treats with great charity on his own cover. His winsome yet penetrating vocals might remind you of Iron & Wine, as will his gentle acoustic melodies. Likewise his instrumental tracks hang in the air like autumn leaves. Copenhagen's EFTERKLANG , release their new album Under Giant Trees on April 2nd. Think really pretty peaceful orchestrated music over minimal strings and guitars that grow into something bigger with lots of vocals. Maybe a bit like Detektivbyrån or Grizzly Bear. There's a Norwegian band named Efterklang who recently redsigned their website. How does this relate to you, faithful Swedesplease readers? Well, the band has posted a beautiful version of their song "Step Aside" by Swedish singer-songwriter Tobias Hellkvist .
