Following a string of celebrated releases leaning on everything from kitschy euro sounds to deep funk and latin jazz, the relatively new to the scene Todd Terje has already made his mark within dance music circuits. Gems such as the cheese monster "Eurodans" and the latin disco-fuelled edit of Jacko's "Can't Help it" under his Tangoterje edit-moniker instantly made industry types and clubbers alik e go bananas, and whatever the 25 year old Norwegian puts his fingers on, it always comes out with that crucial blend of musicality and playfulness. Filed under: Exclusive , RPM , New Music Pitch Perfect PR Norwegian disco DJ and producer Todd Terje , whose single ' Ragysh ' was among our top electronic songs of 2011 , has just released 'It's the Arps,' a four-song EP composed entirely of sounds produced by the ARP2600 analog synth. We talked with Terje about his new EP and upcoming LP and remix projects, as well as his Olsen [...]

John Talabot - Fin By Stef Siepel The Weekly Froth! A weekly take on six tracks, most of which have recently popped up somewhere in the blogosphere. Bit of a mixed bag with a slight leaning towards house, disco, and remixes, but generally just anything that for some reason tickled the writer’s fancy. Track of the Week: ‘So Will Be Now...’ by John Talabot feat. Pional Love the start with those vocals, and love how quickly he adds to it with the [...]
If you haven't been paying attention to the French Express record label, which boasts top up and coming names like Moon Boots , Perseus , and today's mixmaster Jonas Rathsman , then it's about time you start. The label has been absolutely on fire of late, showcasing a laid back tropical and deep sound in their productions. Jonas Rathsman , the Swedish deep-house viking, who released his Tobago EP on French Express in November, gives us this stellar 'Januari' Mix to remind us that he's a boss. [...]

For those of you who are new to the site, this is a list of my favourite dance music from the last year. It's not exclusively remixes, and yes, you can argue you could dance to the songs in the Top Tracks list too. Out in the Streets - Africa HiTech The Look (Koreless remix) - Jacques Greene Surph - Rustie Sketch - Synkro Sicko Cell - Joy Orbison Rolling In The Deep (Jamie xx Shuffle) [...]

Snowing like crazy here in Chicago. Unlike Seattle we actually have snow plows. We also benefit from not having any hills. Anyways lets get to the some great music for your weekend. First is just one in a series of awesome cuts from the duo Oliver. We love ourselves some U-Tern over here at Analog Giant. Oliver - Dirty Talk by weareoliver The next track is from another duo. Casual Encounters is a group made up of Shawn Mac and Chas Bronz who are based in Boston and [...]

Something magical happens to a sound once Todd Terje touches it. Whether it's an edit or a beautifully crafted original, his not-so-short discography is batting close to 1000. Terje Olsen is a man of many monikers... from his edit alias, Tanjoterje to Disco Terje to his current, Todd Terje (pronounced Terr-Yeh, which yes, is a 'subtle' nod to the famous house producer Todd Terry), Mr T seems to always be switching things up. Terje's early discography was widely focused around edits of nearly every genre, dubbed 'Remaster of the Universe' Terje put out a two-disc compilation on Permanent [...]

due brani estratti dal nuovo EP It’s The Arps di Todd Terje , che si presenta con una splendida copertina di Bendik Kaltenborn , ed è uscito pochi giorni fa per Smalltown Supersound :

brand new Todd Terje gem taken from his It's The Arps EP
It's the reliance on a sole instrument, namely the ARP2600 analog synthesizer, that allows producer/DJ Todd Terje to navigate his way through a very impressive EP that, while a bit glib at times, morphs distinct chills and genuine atmosphere out of basic dance song structures. The puzzlingly titled “Inspector Norse” opens the four-song set with an infectious groove and a foot-tapping shuffle. The song sheds its faux-Deadmau5 skin early, though, as the lead synth riff takes center stage, evolving, transforming, and sliding around both the beat and powerful major chords that bellow beneath at the halfway mark. [...]

Holy Ship and Vacay development have dampered the vitamin output of late. I apologize for the near death experience some of you may have suffered due to the shortage. Come early February, I'm certain you will be filled with joy and approve of my neglect to fill your prescription. Let's indulge in a pair of Miami Horror reworks that will surely lift your Vacay spirits until then. Miami Horror - Summersun (Cadillac Remix) Miami Horror - Holidays (Lenno & Jesse Oliver Remix) [...]

Mixtape blues. Fuck. Finding suitable tracks, putting them into order and then mixing them is proving to be an extremely frustrating process. Who would have thought? Introduction songs, ending songs, build up songs, banging songs... GAH. The single positive that I can take out of this whole experience is that I have managed to reconnect with the world of disco. After a period of intermittent-at-best disco following, it was nice to see that things have been bubbling away nicely while I have been gone. [...]

Blouse: "Attempting valiantly to get back on the horse in 2012." Whilst we track down some time, please enjoy a couple of superb tracks which are inspired by the upcoming (and hugely exciting) Future Classic night at the Keystone Festival Bar. This year sees two masters - in the form of Prins Thomas and DJ Koze - gracing the wheels of steel. Expect six hours (three each) of power... And probably a whole bunch of [...]

[RSS Readers: See post to listen to audio] Todd "are you kidding me!??" Terje literally just sits down and makes hits for this blog I swear, I know I post a lot of his tracks but its worth it, I mean listen to that! If it was 2001 i'd add a music player to this blog and this song would just automatically play right when you loaded the site. #synthmansion Jonny from The Drums collabing with Matthew Dear makes soo much sense after you hear this song slowly merging with [...]

A bailar, a gozar. If there was some kind of Lunar Disco, SALON ACAPULCO would be there to party this mixtape would be the music for it, "Fandango" is the new stuff [...]

Alot of blogs and cool cat producers been talking up Todd Terje 's " It's The Arps " EP and namely lead track " Inspector Norse ". So much so that you might think Mr. Terje had channelled the second coming of christ via disco music. He hasn't. But it is really good and what alot of people haven't talked about so much is that it's a very playful disco record, with a sense of fun that is sometimes lacking in the ever slooooooowing world of 'Nu-Disco' these days. Todd Terje - [...]

Love Is The Drug by Roxy Music has possibly one of the best bass lines in a song ever. It's awesome. It the kind of bass line that makes you want to jump out of bed in the morning and take on the world. Something like that anyway... Todd Terje seems to have been putting out a lot of new stuff recently, and this remix is definitely one of the best of the tracks floating around at the moment. Subtly remixed, still keeping that classic Brian Ferry chorus vocal in there, this is a stunning piece of disco dynamite. Psychedelic drum [...]
Just like Tron , here's another thing that last popped up a year ago that is making a return on Ceefax Of Life - Go With The Flow (GWTF) . 2012 is the new 2011. Todd Terje extends Love Is The Drug a bit here, adds some reverb there and cuts most of Bryan Ferry's vocals before slathering some extra percussion all over it i.e. he's done a disco dub and has no bones calling it such. Does Love Is The Drug need a [...]
Genre-wise, Todd Terje is a bit off the beaten path that I listen too, but having said that, I can pretty confidently say that if you feel like you enjoy good music, you'll probably enjoy his production. Those familiar with the name know that amid quality official remixes and original tracks of his own, Todd Terje has risen to be one of the top names associated with the disco re-edit scene. Staying true to the disco theme, Todd Terje is launching into 2012 with a new four track EP entitled Its The Arps [...]
