I know this is a few weeks old but that doesn't change how much fun the music is. As a promotion for Polaroid, Tokyo Police Club covered 10 songs from the past decade. They covered one pivotal song from each year. And the choices are all over the place from the alternative smash hit The Sweetness by Jimmy Eat World to the indie darling Kim & Jessie by M83 to the tween pop smash hit Party in

Those awesome folks over there at Some Kind of Awesome premiered this track about a week ago. While playing local gigs at the University of Minnesota, Breanne met Adam Young of Owl City and was recruited to sing backup on tracks like "The Saltwater Room" and "Honey and the Bee." Before you pass any judgement, check out some of her originals from her debut EP Sparks , which was released in March of this year. Then check out this great Tokyo Police Club remix of "No One Else."

Frank Yang Just as a point of reference, when someone IMs you late on a Friday afternoon and asks, "do you want to go see Feist at the CBC's Glenn Gould Studio tomorrow night?", the only appropriate answer is yes. And so it was that after assuming that it'd be too much trouble to finagle one of the hottest tickets in a long weekend with no shortage of hot tickets, one was handed to me. No I'm not bragging. Okay I'm bragging a little. But the point being that I didn't expect [...]
After a month hiatus of Le Miel du Mois is finally back with it's latest installment and man does it feel good to say that. I saw all the comments and got the emails, I missed it as much as you guys but Steph was in the process of leaving New York for London and I can only imagine how busy she must have been. The LMDM tapes always seem to take me on this joyful ride of reflection and movement, I guess that's why so many of us have come depend on it to get our months [...]

DJ Shadow – The Less You Know, The Better (Verve) O DJ Shadow não é novo. Já tem 15 anos de carreira nas costas. E a experiência que ele obteve na música eletrônica parece não ter afetado a produção do seu quarto álbum de estúdio, o The Less You Know, The Better.

![[SKOA Premiere] Breanne Düren - "No One Else (Tokyo Police Club Remix)"](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3763674_lg.jpg)
You may recognize Breanne Düren 's tender but powerful backing vocals from when she graced Owl City 's albums with tracks like " The Saltwater Room " and " Honey and the Bee " before heading out on tour to do additional background vocals with him. Düren, who had only been playing local gigs while in school at the University of Minnesota before she met Adam Young (Owl City) quickly realized while she was on tour with Young that she was born to have a career in music: "I went from [...]

[Covers that have recently come across our radar...] Tokyo Police Club , "Kim & Jessie" ft. Jamie Jackson (of Hot As Sun ) (M83 cover) — Tokyo Police Club recently partnered up with Polaroid for a project titled "10 Songs, 10 hours, 10 days, 10 years" where they cover a single from the last 10 years in 10 days. For their choice of song from the year 2008, they called upon Jamie Jackson of Hot As Sun to lend some vocals for their upbeat and [...]

Jonathan Taggart As one of the most social media-savvy musicians in the country, it's not unreasonable to say that Dan Mangan reads his own press and so he's probably seen the phrases "everyman", "coffee shop", "roots-rock" and variants thereof in regards to his breakout 2009 record Nice, Nice, Very Nice many, many times. And while these descriptors were usually meant in most complimentary ways - one does't make the Polaris shortlist on the back of negative press - his just-released follow-up Oh Fortune [...]

Artwork by Jacob Youngblood Ziegler Brandon's TBE Digest is a place where I gather up all the recent jams that are worth a listen (or 10) but don't necessarily need their own post. Here you will find new tracks by known bands, remixes, covers, and even mashups if they are interesting. My favorites of the lot are in bold . I have got to start writing less in these descriptions. You guys come here for the music. Get to it. For more jams by any [...]
Music Blog Rule #68: You can never have enough “All My Friends” covers. Never. Tokyo Police Club - All My Friends (LCD Soundsystem Cover).mp3
Five new covers from artists ranging from Reggae to rock and much of what's in between. First we go with Cris Cab's reggae/jam cover to Foster The People's "Pumped Up Kicks". I like how the chill vibes and overall Cris Cab gives it a new sound which is refreshing since the only thing I hear [...]

This past weekend, the always quality pop culture arm of the immensely popular Onion , The A.V. Club brought their expertise into the real world with the first annual A.V. Fest in Chicago, Ill. Hosted by the legendary Hideout, A.V. Fest was a time of hearty pop culture reflection, with a smattering of under-the-radar or nearly forgotten acts. Not to take away, most every band on the bill was necessary, and gave further insight into The A.V. Club and what the editors value as far as art is concerned. [...]
