There's something about good progressive house that always makes me think of being chased through a futuristic city by merciless robots. Zounds of Arca is a bass heavy glimpse into a dark, post-singularity world. The sharp arpegios and pounding basslines that are customary of prog house just have a naturally cinematic quality to them. One of my favorite things about progressive house is that producers aren't afraid to write creative chord progressions. Tomcraft does exactly that in Zounds of Arca. Outstanding Track of the Month: Deadmau5 - HR 8938 Cephei Deadmau5 released a track, named after the north star, a few weeks ago on his Soundcloud channel. It rose in listens extremely quickly, and Mau5trap released it on Beatport shortly after where it quickly hit #1 on the overall Beatport Chart. German DJ and producer Tomcraft has been a steady force in the progressive house and trance scene for a decade and I can see why.
