I've been cleaning out the ol' record bin recently, searching for summer music with the thought that a good playlist should be energetic, but not too uptempo that you loose steam dancing in summer's heat. Considering heatstroke and fatigue are usually a bad look, I felt compelled to cool things off with a refreshing selection of blissfully sluggish, off-disco gems. Inspiration came from many places, but special thanks should go to The Growning Bin for turning me onto Fata Morgana , which has become a new summer standard, and to Jaz for consistently supplying the [...]

No, it's not "& Down". Today I'll be posting two tracks from Alex Ridha's Boysnoize Records label. First is French producer Strip Steve. He first emerged with his Skip School EP on Boysnoize records, before sharing a limited split release with Das Glow on the Arcade Mode label, with Das Glow's "Sunburnt" on the A-side and his own "Skatin" on the B-side. Possessing a sound lodged somewhere in the void between electro and French house, his tracks are hard to resist. Strip Steve - [...]

Another year, another 80,000 ARAWA friends are made. Friends with strange made-up names, friends whose tastes run from the far far left to the debilitatingly eccentric (me!). Friends that meet through networks of strewn and tangled wires and invisible floating signals, leaving the constraints of the real world behind and yes, embracing the rainbow I always thought was too far to reach. Yeah, I totally just went there. Over the past couple of years I've had the pleasure of meeting and founding a partnership with Tommy Boy through all these cables and wires. Though [...]

Tommy Boy " Back Up ": Not much going on today, and I'm in the mood to share some DnB that's either come out or not gonna come out. This track came out in 2006 under one of TC 's nicknames. It's his raucous amen-infused style, but with a West Coast twang to it. The Eazy E sample (" back up bitch, unless you want nut in ya eye! ") gets me everytime.
The third of our Telepathe - Devil's Trident remix and video comes from the crafted hands of Diamond Vampires and Tommyboy. We leave you in the capable hands of Tommyboy for the post today. Well campers, Halloween's over and I already miss it. I know we covered tons but we left out so much more. I guess there's always next year. Just in case you're wondering, we have no plans for a ARAWA Christmas theme excursion. You can put your vomit bags down now. Clearly after October's insanity, its time to give carpal tunnel a rest. In the meantime, allow me to shamelessly plug my recent mix. If you're down for disco and up for dancing, then this was specially made just for you. Hopefully it'll tide you over while I gather my wits [...]

The Death Set, doing its live thing. (Justin Kelly) Hey, check this out: Tonight's show at The Lounge , which features Baltimore's The Death Set as its headliner, is f-r-e-e to attend. If, that is, you're over 21. If not, this sucker'll cost you 10 bones. But for the over 21 set, yep, that's quite the steal. The electro-dance band is part of the blossoming Baltimore scene that, at the moment, is blossoming, thanks in large part to acts like this one and others, like [...]
