Rolling Stone has Tori Amos fans hearts aflutter this morning with this little tidbit on their site: " On May 1st Tori Amos, is releasing a new album, American Doll Posse . Music's most famous woodland nymph wrote and produced the record herself, recorded it in Cornwall, England, and plans to launch a world tour in support of the release on May 28th in Rome. Dates coming soon." I kind of like the picture...bangs work for her. The jury's still out on the title. [...]

We got hit with some snow and ice last Tuesday and Wednesday, then an artic blast of cold air (not to mention below zero windchills this AM when I walked the dogs). Powered by fileden , we got mixtapes. Hopefully you're using Firefox and its most bonzai extension, DownThemAll! 1. "On a Misty Morning" - Catherine Howe This woman apparently is a 70's English folk singer. She is also still alive in this decade. Props. I gotta think Newsom has listened to her. She has a much more mainstream voice. Listen to this track while on drugs if you can. 2. "Pretty Good Year" - Tori Amos [...]
You always hear that everyone has already made up their mind about Hillary Clinton. They either like her or hate her and there's no middle ground. I'm not sure I believe that. For one, while I have made up my mind in the general sense (I like her and would be happy to vote for her), I definitely haven't come to any firm decision about her in relation to the other potential Democratic candidates. Disclosure: My personal politics are way, way to the left of any of these folks on most issues. To [...]

This may be my all-time favorite mix. A perfect blend of acoustic guitars and piano, all mellow in mood. All album ending tracks. Perfect to play before bed. I may post v1.0; but it's not as good. Drunk on mulled spiced cinna-cider last night, I decided that, no, one bad Relient K song wouldn't fulfill the Resonator gift…from our drunk asses to yours (it's never to early to assail the wassail), as we get one shot a year to do this, and, like all things Res, we're gonna do it to excess, a handful of our favorite things that we only get one shot a year to throw out. [...]

I mentioned the Free Downloads chart over at last.fm in my post yesterday, but I thought I should put a little more focus on the chart in today's post. Why? Several reasons why? First of all! Wouldn't it be great if this chart became really popular? Then bands and labels would be even more motivated to make their music available for free at last.fm . Furthermore you don't have to be a registered member or login to be able to download the songs, which mean that bloggers can link directly to the songs [...]

Wow, almost forgot! Yesterday marked the second birthday of Music Of The Moment ! I've started this blog to let the world know about what music I like (don't ask where I got the idea that somebody actually might be interested in that!), and I kept to this most of the time. Over these two years, my list of fellow bloggers grew longer, downloads were added, new features were implemented, visit numbers started to go up and up, and I guess that there really are a few people out there who are interested [...]

It's that time of year. The time of year where many of us start gathering all our favorite Christmas music together to get in the spirit of the season. My favorite artist is Tori Amos so it's always nice when your favorite artist can help you celebrate the holidays by recording some Christmas songs. Generally I enjoy the Christmas songs sung by more classic artists, or at least sung very classically, but it's nice to have renditions by your favorite singers. In some ways it is strange for Tori to do Christmas [...]
Well I have finally finished my work for this term and so am able to do an update with the music that has got me through a couple of weeks of stress, and varies quite widely through genres as per usual. I'll start off with a song that was played in almost its entirety on the [...]
I have a good friend who was in a great late 80's & early 90's SF band called Bomb... They are just awfully under appreciated and more so each day, and perhaps rightly so... but I thought I'd share a few tracks that were faves of mine... Their music was dark, silly, evil, booming and loud... and aside from all those good things...despite even a year or so of major label status, remains relatively obscure... So here's some Bomb mp3'z below for the hundreds of y'all that stop by each day... [...]

01 : Joseph Arthur - Can't Exist (Live) : Joseph Arthur is one of the best ten artists who will never be famous. He's smooth, many of his songs are instant classics, and the man creates some of the weirdest paintings I've ever seen in my life. This is a gorgeous track and to hear it stripped down and live is amazing. I would love to see one of his shows. 02 : Akron/Family - Gone Beyond : I'm still not sure what to think of this [...]
Tori Amos - Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This (live) I was reading this story about how the Absolute Edition of Sandman is due early at comic book stores, so I decided to check Amazon and they already have it...
Tori Amos just released her five-disc boxed set titled A Piano: The Collection. It brings together her classic captivating storytelling with rarities, alternate remixes, and previously unreleased music. The fan reviews I've read so far are mixed. It's a challenge to truly represent a complex artist like Tori Amos with just five CD's. The cool deluxe box set packaging actually resembles a piano's keyboard.
