toy horses is a step-father and son duo from cardiff, UK. their story is a bit interesting...after gaining some radio traction in the UK, the pair was invited to play at a SXSW showcase, ultimately leading to a KCRW session in LA. after hearing some of the songs, ken coomer (former wilco drummer) contacted toy horses, offering to produce their debut record. joining them in the nashville studio were some very "pop" figures...musicians who have contributed to the likes of the counting crows, taylor swift and jewel, and i would say the resulting sound is pretty "pop" [...]

Paul 'Maximo Park' Smith has aged a bit... Some bands are so tuneful it hurts. Some bands send you music which instantly cheers you up. Some bands have extremely boring and un-Google-able names. Toy Horses tick all three boxes. They're also from Wales, but that's not particularly important right now.
