We had completely forgotten about this big-haired ballad under Gary Barlow got into a controversy by referring to the singer as being off pitch. Then a huge drama went down between the two lead singers. But, it gave us a chance to revisit this epic tune. A sharp Twitterslap to the side of the head has taught Gary Barlow what he should have known : you treat Carol Decker with the respect she deserves. He'd slagged off T'pau's version of China In Your Hands after one of the inmates on X Factors did a caterwauling cover of it: The Take That star said he preferred Devlin's version because it was "in tune". Decker responded on Twitter, asking Barlow what his problem was and saying: "I actually have perfect pitch [an innate ability to stay in tune]." She [...]

Mrs. Toad has been away in China for the last week or so and, frankly, I am jealous. I am wedded to Edinburgh now, for fairly obvious reasons, but I have always been something of a gypsy, as have my parents, and as such China has held a pretty significant fascination for several years now. I spent three years in Singapore between the ages of eleven and fourteen and I absolutely loved the place. Not just Singapore, but all the travelling we did in South East Asia - I was absolutely captivated. Honestly, if it were [...]

This is the band sounding like they had been around for alot longer than just over a year in this performance. Playing live in Glasgow (Scotland) at the SECC and rebroadcast as part of a 'live action concert series' this is the band back in 1987. Source: FM recording. Sound [...]

...that T'Pau were always overlooked. Well, for good reason I would reply. But Owen (above) wouldn't have any of it. I'd just be talking to his hand when I said Carol Decker probably smelled a bit unwashed and had a mouth like a sewer. This was just to get him going, of course, but he'd stand there and laugh his head off. He'd then go off into a rant himself imagining all sorts of slutty behaviour by poor Carol finishing with a cackling " Dirty slaaaaaaaaaag! " I still couldn't imagine [...]
