Frank Yang It's said that for bands seeking exposure, television is the new radio as far as reaching a mass audience is concerned. Sheffield's Slow Club can probably speak a little to that, having done pretty well as far as advert and show soundtracking goes. Not having cable or watch much/any broadcast TV, I had no idea about this - I found the duo the old fashioned way by having their 2009 debut Yeah So show up in my mailbox - but it did explain why [...]

The Trailer Trash Tracys hot live sessions below. Worth a listen. Their the debut album Ester, is out now on Double Six.

Black Arts PR Graham Coxon has come up with a pretty clever way to get the word out about his forthcoming eighth solo record A+E , which is due out on April 2. Sure, the giving away a free MP3 from the album via a mailing list at DIY is pretty standard these days, but still effective. Soliciting dance auditions from fans to get a chance to star in the first video is also a fun strategy. And the three video trailers he's [...]

Mark Lanegan's Blues Funeral comes out today, and if you couldn't tell how excited we were to feature an exclusive album preview this past week and you somehow thrilled we were to host the Mark Lanegan Band live this morning from the Cutting Room Studios in NYC, go back and listen to the performance again later today on our Live Performances Archive and you can practically hear John Richards' head explode when Mark calls him "bro." Awesome. Though Mark Lanegan lives in sunnier southern climes now, he's definitely a legend of Northwest [...]
Ester , the first album from the bent British indie-pop crew Trailer Trash Tracys, has finally arrived on our shores. And to mark the occasion, we've got a remix of their track " Candy Girl " from New York experimental mainstays Black Dice, who turn the track into staticy, chaotic fizz. Download their reworking of the song below. Read More...
Here are a few MP3s of songs from some of the better albums released this week: Bahamas – “I Got You Babe” from Barchords Capybara – “Late Night Bikes” from Dave Drusky Ben Kweller – “Mean to Me” from Go...

//photo by emma swan All hail the new era of my posts, where I don't even research the bands I talk about and instead make you do the leg work while I continue to give you awesome jams. Here we go.. Trailer Trash Tracys are not anything new and sound like a million other bands, but none the less this record rules and has been on repeat while I work on a thousand other projects. Dark, moody and wet just like I like it. Plus it's all Twin Peaks up in this motherfucker so.. [...]

Tweet Trailer Trash Tracys is a four-piece band from London, signed by Domino Records/Double Six . The band snagged attention with their longing-filled track, "Candy Girl" , two years ago, around the time The XX made their debut, and has only recently released their first album, Ester , to add to their name. Stating Sufi poetry (now if that doesn’t sound intriguing already, I don’t know what’ll pull you in…) and a kaleidoscope of experimental sounds [...]

Harley Weir No question, the first thing that needs to be addressed is their name. Even in an era with no shortage of terrible band names, Trailer Trash Tracys is an exceptionally terrible band name; the London quartet would probably be the first to admit it. But if there's an upside to it, it's that it offers no clues to what their debut album Ester might hold, so you've no choice to experience it with an open mind, if perhaps also lowered expectations. Not that pressing [...]
There shouldn't be much of a reason why I ask you to watch the new Trailer Trash Tracys ' video for "Engelhardt's Arizona." The 'Here-there-everywhere' imagery play, spliced with the song's languid, off-center pace combine for a deceivingly memorable output. You watch.
Trailer Trash Tracys have been building quite the buzz for the February 7th release of their debut full-length Ester . They'll surely add more with the second video from the album. Watch "Engelhardt's Arizona" here:
Astral imagery and jellyfish moneyshots combine with facial closeups and an introductory formal hypnosis exercise (really) to constitute the core elements of this video for Trailer Trash Tracys' Stereolab-on-Steve Vai track " Engelhardt's Arizona ." All of this makes it a perfectly representative document of what the London outfit is up to with their twisted, languid-yet-frenetic future-pop, and so it is posted here for your edification/trance-inducing needs: Read More...
It's easy to sound old any time you start anything with, "When I was a kid and MTV actually played music videos..." but whatever: When I was a kid and MTV actually played music videos, ... read more

Trailer Trash Tracys - Ester By Paul Stephen Gettings Much has been made recently of the constant search for novelty in music, and how it traps consumers and artists alike in a cycle that sees yesterday’s next big thing discarded in the chase for fresher, newer sounds. We hear of bands that, after one modish or mediocre debut, are dropped by labels and fans alike before they get to release another, robbing them of their chance to mature as artists and perhaps even pull out a classic later on in [...]
è uscito per Domino questo mese Ester , l’atteso album di esordio dei Trailer Trash Tracys - nuova promessa shoegaze inglese, che mantiene molto.
