No booze at a Motley fucking Crue show? Jesus fucking Christ. That must be like having sex with a condom made of nails. I mean, no booze at a Motley Crue show is like no handjob at the Asian masseuse place. Why the fuck am I there, then? I was at a Motley Crue show sober once. [...]

Once I hit the fourth song on Trapt's new album I realized I should stop trying to hate it, because it's actually a great album. There is a lot of growth in, Only Through the Pain , musically if not lyrically. Track six, "Forget About the Rain" reminds me a little bit of 311 or Sublime whereas the first couple tracks are more like Atari or a high energy Matchbox 20. All I can say is for a third studio album it ended up awfully diverse and very pumped up. Lyrically the content [...]
Quick Album Reviews Mike Gordon - Green Sparrow - Doesn't push his bass skills much. The album isn't anything to special, but it's lite, straight forward and fun. Phish fans will like it. Phish haters will point to it as...

There's some great new music by Trapt coming out. I've been a fan of Trapt for a while now, it's a sound that combines terrific melodies with a good old fashioned head-banging beat and yet doesn't quite drive my lover mad like NIN or Puscifier or Cold does. And the words mean something, full of angst and well just plain old heartbreak, yeah I'm a sucker for that. Plus, it's not the kind of death-dirge sound of Metallica and other bands in that genre that makes me want to take a knife to my tender bits. The single [...]

As the southern shores of the Texas coast were being relentlessly hammered by Hurricane Dolly, a storm of a different sort slammed its way into the Alamo City last Wednesday. Maybe those long traffic lines heading out of Padre Island earlier in the week were actually Crue fans making their way to San Antonio to catch the first annual Cruefest featuring Trapt, Sixx AM, Papa Roach, Buckcherry, and that notorious whirlwind of destruction known as Motley Crue. It would be the first time for this Old Fart to witness the Crue since their glory days of [...]

A new Trapt album, Only Through The Pain, will be released on August 5th. The eleven-song EP is the follow-up to their 2005 gold-certified Someone In Control and finds Chris Taylor Brown turning the pain of a cheating ex (always good for enough music to fill an album) into high-energy tracks that reveal the feelings of someone betrayed. Who's Going Home With You Tonight is the signature track on the release and is an anthem to mistrust. But this is far from some kind of get-even song hatefest, the song Contagious is a look at the positive side of life. [...]
I just found some great music in the strangest place. My desk, my computer, yeah that's right, on my own computer. My kids decided to watch some TV tonight so I put the headphones on and opened up iTunes. As usual, I start iTunes in the "Purchased" folder and check out what my kids (and wife) have been downloading. It's a good way to keep an eye on them and also find new music. I look, listen and call out each title to find out who downloaded each track. I have 2 girls, 13 and 17. And [...]
